The tabloid headlines suggest scientists have found a way to use skin cells instead of eggs to create human embryos, meaning in a futuristic sense two men could use the that method to reproduce.
Dr. David Prentice of the Charlotte Lozier Institute tells OneNewsNow the tabloids are wrong.
“What they actually did was they took an egg and they started it growing as an embryo, what's called a parthanogenetic embryo,” he explains. “You can trick an egg into thinking it's been fertilized, and it'll start growing like any other embryo but it only has female chromosomes.”

Churches lag on pro-life ministry
Students for Life's Institute for Pro-Life Advancement has released a new poll on discussing abortion within the church. Spokesperson Lisa Stover tells OneNewsNow a Gallup Poll found that 52 percent of women who have an abortion self-identify as Christians.
“And then in 2015 LifeWay Research found the number to be close to 70 percent, and they also found that 76 percent of those active, church-going women said that their church had no influence on their decision to abort,” she says. “And so this really shows that there's something lacking in our churches today.”
So if Christians attending church are not hearing the pro-life message and feel they have nowhere to turn within the church, she says, they tend to seek abortions.

The legalization of assisted suicide is a constant threat. Even where lethal prescriptions or injections cannot be legally provided, some of our most notable bioethicists urge that doctors be permitted to help the elderly and others commit suicide by self-starvation—a process known in euthanasia advocacy circles as VSED (Voluntary Stopping of Eating and Drinking).

A two-month battle has ensued on Capitol Hill, where Democrats held up Zika funding to obtain funds for abortion giant Planned Parenthood.
Douglas Johnson of the National Right to Life Committee says the blames goes to the Democrats.
"Who were simply willing to let there be no mosquito control, no vaccine development funds," Johnson claims, "unless these funds were not constrained in the way that the Republicans wanted to constrain them."
GOP leaders wanted to keep the funds from groups that perform abortions, and there is criticism that Republicans are willing to drop that provision.
Johnson says that doesn't mean Republicans caved on the issue and calls GOP leadership "outstanding" on the issue.

Open Letter Requesting ‘UN International Safe Abortion Day’

September 28 is a date that has been used by pro-abortion activists to protest pro-life laws and stage events promoting abortion since 1990.
The Open Letter states that the purpose of an official UN day for so-called ‘safe abortion’ is “to send a strong signal to the international community and to all our governments, with a simple but highly symbolic statement of support for safe abortion.”
The letter is filled with pro-abortion falsehoods and arguments.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon received his letter in person, delivered by Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi from South Africa, the Special Envoy on Gender of the African Development Bank. The letter was also addressed to the heads of UN Women, UN Development Programme, World Health Organization, UN Population Fund, UN Children’s Fund, UNAIDS, and UNESCO.

The Obama administration is slapping down every state that has acted on the idea that the federal Title X reproductive healthcare program was NOT created to bankroll Planned Parenthood.
A proposed new Health & Human Services (HHS) rule announced last week would nullify state eligibility thresholds that prioritizes Title X grants to full-service medical facilities.
Created in 1970 to help the indigent and uninsured, Title X is federally-dispersed money designed to assist low income-qualifying women for non-abortion reproductive health services, including contraceptives and health screenings.

Laying the groundwork for pro-life leaders
Lauren Castillo is national director of the newly launched Faith Foundations – a project of Students for Life of America (SLA). Castillo says they've found it is especially difficult to establish pro-life clubs in faith-based high schools because of a lack of time and resources – or because administrators believe such groups are too political.
"And so Faith Foundations is really providing the answer with the free resources, with the free training from our field team across the country, and giving the advisers a guidebook to know how they reach their pro-life students in an effective way to get them plugged into the movement," she tells OneNewsNow.
Castillo explains that after identifying those students who are motivated to get involved, the next step is to get them to "meaningfully reach their peers with the reality of abortion [and] its life-affirming alternatives, and [to] connect them with local pro-life resources like a pregnancy resource center."

Fringe Catholic group promotes abortion funding with national ad campaign
An ad placed by "Catholics for Choice" in Monday's Chicago Sun-Times and 19 other news sources nationwide calling for taxpayer funding of abortion drew fire from the Chicago Archdiocese and Catholic leaders in the pro-life movement.
The ad launched a nationwide petition campaign the group is calling "Abortion in Good Faith," saying "Our campaign tells the stories of Catholics across the country who want meaningful, accessible reproductive healthcare choices for everyone, no matter how much money they have, where they live or what they believe. We believe hat everyone deserves access to abortion."
Catholics for Choice is not affiliated with the Catholic Church, and the ad was "deceptive," New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan said Wednesday.

Mr. Trump spoke to the largely Evangelical audience about many issues. Of critical interest to pro-lifers was his view on appointments to the Supreme Court:
But one of the most important [issues] – some people think it’s actually the most important – is the filling of the seats [on the] United States Supreme Court. You see what’s happening right now? Essentially it’s four and four. And you see what – how bad it is. We’re going to pick great judges. I’ve already put a list of 11 Federalist Society, highly recommended, got uniform great reviews on these 11 people. And we are going to put truly great people. Maybe we use Judge Scalia of the ultimate example of what we’re looking for, OK?
This will determine whether or not we remain a constitutional republic, frankly. That’s what’s going to happen. I have pledged to appoint judges who uphold the Constitution, to protect your religious liberty, and apply the law as written. We reject judges who rewrite the Constitution to impose their own personal views on 300 million-plus Americans. We’re not going to have that. I’ve made public a list of judges, as I said, that will guide my selection process. Hillary Clinton has refused to provide such a list. And we brought it up.

Let me assure you the Trump-Pence administration will stand for the sanctity of life and defend the unborn from the first day we take office. I’m truly grateful for Donald Trump’s strong commitment to the sanctity of life. He understands the moral imperative of advancing the cause of life.
And Pence said
When President Trump takes office we will work with the Congress and sign into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. We will end late term abortions nationwide. As my running mate said not so long ago, “We should not be one of seven countries that allows elective abortion after 20 weeks. It goes against our core values.”

Her foot, The Daily Telegraph reported “World’s smallest baby’ now thriving at nine months old“, was an inch long.

Adam Boult reports that she is “believed to be the smallest ever baby to survive such an early delivery.”
Now Emilia weighs in a whopping 7lb 2oz “and is getting stronger with each passing day.”
Emily’s mother, Sabine, had no choice but to deliver Emily at 25 weeks, according to Boult. Dr. Sven Schiermeier, chief physician of obstetrics, said that without a caesarean, Emily would have died in the womb. The placenta was failing to provide her child with enough nutrition.

Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act introduced by Senator Lankford

Last April the Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act (H.R. 3515) was introduced in the House by Congressman Chris Smith (R-N.J.), a veteran legislator who is co-chairman of the House Pro-Life Caucus, with Vicki Hartzler (R-Mo.), Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), and Trent Franks (R-Az.) as original cosponsors.
The bill is a top National Right to Life legislative priority.
“No unborn child should be subjected to the brutality of having her arms and legs torn off with steel tools that grasp, tear, and crush,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life.
The measure is based on a model state bill proposed by National Right to Life, which has already been enacted in Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. The bill has also been introduced in Idaho, Missouri, and Nebraska, and is expected to be introduced in several other states.
The bill defines “dismemberment abortion” as “knowingly dismembering a living unborn child and extracting such unborn child one piece at a time from the uterus through the use of clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors or similar instruments that, through the convergence of two rigid levers, slice, crush or grasp a portion of the unborn child’s body in order to cut or rip it off . . .”

Democrats choose Planned Parenthood over Zika funding for the third time
Fresh off a seven-week vacation, Senate Democrats filibustered more than $1 billion in funding to combat the Zika virus because it does not fund Planned Parenthood, the third time senators have held up relief for the disease over the issue.
A spending bill that included $1.1 billion in anti-Zika relief funding passed the Senate on Tuesday by a vote of 52-46, eight votes shy of the 60 needed to end a debate waged by Democrats.

We do for free what we wouldn’t do for money. We do for love what we wouldn’t do for power, and we do for others what we wouldn’t do for ourselves. That’s what it means to be our “brother’s keeper,” to “love our neighbor as ourselves” and to be “a Good Samaritan.”
However, despite such inaccurate characterizations of pro-life people, critics correctly use the word “movement” to describe us. That is crucial to understanding who we are. Pro-Life is not a protest group … not an organization … not a sectarian crusade.
Pro-Life is a mighty association of individuals, groups, churches, and organizations with people of all ages, colors, religions and nationalities. Pro-Life is a worldwide movement that has no counterpart.

Phyllis steadfastly defended the protection of unborn children, and was a stalwart and compassionate defender of the most vulnerable members of society. Phyllis’s dedication to the right-to-life cause helped guide the movement and her leadership proved invaluable. The presidential candidates are running on their parties' platforms -- Republicans pro-life and Democrats strongly pro-abortion. While Democrats promise more jobs, the party supports the killing of about a million children a year through abortion.

WATCH: Toledo abortion facility destroyed, to become pro-life ‘Hope Center’
An abortion facility that performed tens of thousands of abortions has been demolished to make room for a memorial site to the unborn.
Respect Life Ministries of Catholic Charities posted the pictures of the demolition on its Facebook page. “Thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
“Countless mothers and fathers who had abortions there have already come back to seek healing,” the ministry wrote. “In a few short years it will be the site of Hope Park (www.hopepark.org) where countless more can return.”

Consider how far to port Clinton is, how all-encompassing is her embrace of the ideology of the most militant fringe of the abortion movement.
Whomever is the next President, he or she will fill the vacancy left by the death of Antonin Scalia but as many as three more Supreme Court justices. In no uncertain terms, Clinton has pledged to nominate only U.S. Supreme Court justices who will continue legal abortion on demand. Three or four appointments could solidify abortion on demand for a generation.
Clinton broke new ground earlier this year: eliminate the Hyde Amendment which for 40 years has kept the abortion industry from picking the taxpayers’ pockets. The American public robustly opposes federal funding of abortion.
And we need not belabor the obvious: like all pro-abortionists, Clinton is always looking for ways to steer more money into the coffers of Planned Parenthood.
Donald Trump has already cited a list of potential Supreme Court nominees. All are pro-life.
Unlike Clinton, Trump opposes the use of your tax dollars to pay for abortion. He has also made it clear he opposes taxpayer funding of organizations that perform abortions, including Planned Parenthood (the largest abortion provider in the nation), so long as they continue doing abortions.
And whereas Clinton would launch a full-throated offense against federal pro-life laws, Trump would veto laws attacking pro-life laws at the federal level.

Groups Outraged that Planned Parenthood Hires KKK Supporter as a Contractor to Build Their New Mega Center in Washington, D.C.
In a conversation on the public sidewalk in front of the new Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, the plumbing contractor tells Rev. Mahoney that he supports the KKK.

Little Israel Stinson dies after unexpectedly being removed from ventilator
Two-year-old Israel Stinson was declared brain-dead and put on life support in April 2016. “I know you’re going to come out of this, baby,” his mother Jonee Fonseca tearfully said as she tickled and tried to wake him. In an abrupt, unexpected, and surprise decision, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge Thursday dissolved an injunction that prevented a local hospital from turning off 2-year-old Israel Stinson’s ventilator.
The adorable little boy, whose brain-dead diagnosis was fought on two continents by his parents, died shortly afterwards.
“They are devastated. I think still in shock,” family attorney Alexandra Snyder told reporters. “It’s not even my child; I am still in shock this could happen so quickly.”

2016 Senate Elections: Staying Home is NOT an Option!
Every election year brings with it new challenges, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that this election has been the most unpredictable election year in our lifetime!
But there do remain constants.
Every election, we encounter those who are so discouraged with how some races are shaping up that they hide behind their anger and sacrifice their right to vote.
And, every election, we make decisions that will have consequences, for good or ill, for generations to come.
In politics, we have to always be looking forward, being watchful and vigilant in a field that is constantly changing. But we can’t just look to the future, we must also learn from our past, being ever mindful to not repeat history’s mistakes.
Millions of pro-lifers have dedicated their lives to fight for the rights of people we will never meet, making sacrifices so that others may live.
As pro-lifers, we are constantly on the battle lines. We battle for the hearts and minds of Americans. We are on the frontlines in a spiritual battle as well.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
We forget that these words represented a truly radical idea of the time. They fought on the frontlines of history, incapable of knowing the ripple effect their efforts would have on future lives. But they knew that these ideas, life, liberty… were worth fighting for.
We now find ourselves in a ferocious battle to keep pro-life leadership in the U.S. House and Senate, so that we can pass protective pro-life legislation that saves lives – and prevent the enactment of sweeping new pro-abortion legislation that would cost countless lives.
Each time you enter the voting booth, you have a ripple effect that will impact the entire country. You will be electing senators and representatives who will determine the direction of our nation and who will decide the next members of our Supreme Court. The battle for majority control of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives will have sweeping implications for the future of the pro-life movement and our battle to save unborn babies. The loss of the pro-life Republican majorities would be devastating to life issues.
Abortion is the ultimate human discrimination and we. Will. Not. Stay. Silent.
We will fight with our last breath for those who cannot speak for themselves. As long as there is the violence and injustice of abortion there will be those of us who stand against it, and work to protect all of our unborn brothers and sisters.
In every battle, there are soldiers, and every soldier needs their marching orders. These are yours:
Do not stay silent.
Do not be discouraged.

Pro-life Kellyanne Conway picked to manage Trump campaign

But what did not go unnoticed by pro-lifers is that a movement pro-lifer, someone who has labored in the trenches for decades on behalf of unborn babies, someone who in the past has polled for National Right to Life, is now in charge of Mr. Trump’s campaign.
“Kellyanne is very, very smart and without question more knowledgeable about public opinion on abortion than any other pollster,” said David. N. O’Steen, Ph.D., executive director of National Right to Life. “She will provide Trump with savvy insight and advice as he runs against the most pro-abortion presidential candidate ever in Hillary Clinton, and a media establishment that is determined to elect her.”
In addition to having addressed the National Right to Life board of directors, Mrs. Conway delivered a general session speech at the 2006 National Right to Life convention. I remember her comments vividly because she patiently explained what happens when people are asked honest questions about abortion, not questions geared to inflate the “pro-choice” response: “83% of those surveyed want some kind of restriction on the unfettered access to abortion,” was her conclusion.

Six thoughts about the election 75 days out

Mrs. Clinton is ahead in most polls but not nearly as far as you might think. Let’s think through the contest which shall likely decide the composition of the Supreme Court for decades, 75 days out from election night.
Here are six considerations.
#1. Never, ever forget that every poll shows that Mrs. Clinton is personally deeply unpopular and not considered either honest or trustworthy.
#2. The negative impact of the overlapping scandals (private e-mailer server/Clinton Foundation] that have dogged Clinton can only worsen. Virtually every few days we learn something disconcerting about Clinton’s use of a personal email server during her tenure as Secretary of State.
#3. Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s new campaign manager, is pro-life through and through.
#4. When you read the polls, look particularly closely at the ones that include Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Given how unhappy many people are with the Trump/Clinton choice, the numbers voting for the alternatives likely will increase.
#5. Trump is famous, or infamous, for putting little stock in the traditional ground game of identifying and getting supporters to the poll. But not the Republican National Committee.
#6. We will not know until the Election Day results are thoroughly analyzed if there really was/is a vote for Trump that traditional polling techniques are missing. If it proves to be true, the work of Pittsburgh Tribune Review’s Salena Zito will be cited and cited again.

Having dismantled standard pro-abortion talking points, columnist can’t see how illogical it is to stand by and do nothing

Or better put, say “Forget how I have just decimated the standard pro-choice talking points, because in the end….”
I don’t think I’ve read a better example than George Jonas’s piece for the Canadian newspaper, the National Post. The headline certainly catches the bottom line—“Abortion is a parent’s decision, not the government’s”—but it misses the wrecking ball Jonas wields to dismantle the basic foundation of excuses for abortion.
He tells us right out of the chute
“I don’t necessarily oppose abortion; I oppose fuzzy thinking. I oppose the arguments ‘pro-choicers’ customarily use to support abortion. I find them flimsy at best, and at worst, false.”
For example
“Pro-choicers argue, for instance, that society shouldn’t interfere with what a woman does with her own body. Well, society doesn’t. Society interferes with what she proposes to do with someone else’s body. Few societies expect a woman to keep her baby if it’s inconvenient for her. They only expect her not to kill it.”
Or
“There are those who say that, well, you can outlaw abortion, but women will just keep doing it in back alleys. I suppose on the same basis we could legalize holdups since people keep robbing banks anyway. Others argue that men shouldn’t participate in the debate because they can’t get pregnant, which is true. That’s why I never rely on my credentials as a man in the abortion debate, only on my credentials as an ex-fetus.”

U.S. Olympic Champion Saves Cousin’s Baby From Abortion: ‘I’ll Adopt Her’

On Monday, the 21-year-old credited God for her success on Good Morning America after ABC anchor Amy Robach referenced her “difficult childhood.”
How Shields’ past was difficult, Robach didn’t say. But it’s a story well worth telling.
Shields grew up in Flint, Michigan with a father in jail and a mother with drug problems and male “acquaintances” who, Shields said, raped and sexually molested her. Her family relied on food stamps that, she believes, her mother sold for drugs – because food rarely appeared on the table. And when her cousin begged her for abortion money, Shields decided to adopt a baby of her own as a teenager.
Shields revealed to ESPN the story of how she adopted her cousin’s baby in 2014:
A lot of people don’t know, but I adopted a little girl. She’s about 6 months old now. Her name is Klaressa Shields like mine, just spelled with a K. My cousin had her. She already had two kids; she didn’t want to have another. I told her I wanted to have a baby after the Olympics but with my career and everything, I can’t afford to get pregnant right now. So she decided to keep the baby, and now the baby lives with me. I was there for her birth and got to cut her little cord. It was scary seeing her come out. I was like, “What is going on here?” We’re still going through the adoption process, but I have her when I’m at home. When I leave, my best friend’s mom and her birth mother have her.

Missy’s Minute Maid commercial that made the whole world cry

I only saw the briefest cut of the commercial and not the full cut that was shown at other times. In the commercial spot, Missy Franklin is filmed giving a normal press conference in Denver, Colorado leading up to Rio. She surprised her parents by honoring them in front of the press with a hand written letter explaining how much they mean to the Olympic swimmer.
There are articles being written of Olympian Missy Franklin going home without an individual medal and the disappointment she must feel. But I know one of her greatest accomplishments was never a medal. It was making a simple commercial that went into millions of homes explaining the beauty of life in the womb at unexpected times and how those surprises are really adventures to be had. She showed the world the gratitude of one unexpected child and the love her parents showed in return as they kept wiping their eyes. Had her parents not received their surprise, we would never know this world champion swimmer the way we do.
At the end of the commercial, her dad says to her as they finish a hug, “You’re full of surprises.” Missy laughs through tears and you can hear the whole world sigh. Life is so beautiful, especially the unexpected surprises that come with it.

Jahi McMath’s mother can attempt to prove she is alive, California court rules

The court ruled against them. The First Appellate Court ruled that Nailah Winkfield can try to prove her now nearly 16-year-old daughter is alive.
“Because the trial court found the record at the pleading stage was inadequate [to determine Jahi’s death] and ‘may require a more developed factual record,’ we conclude, under these circumstances, that this matter should not be resolved at the pleading stage,” the court ordered, according to Matthias Gafni of the Mercury News.

Every baby is a miracle. I’ve heard that saying many, many times, but I understand it a lot better now that I’m working in the pro-life movement.
Especially when I read stories about babies like Hannah.
While Hannah was still in the womb, doctors diagnosed her with Trisomy 18, a chromosomal abnormality that causes most babies to die at birth.
Doctors encouraged Hannah’s mother, Bernadette, to abort her. They said Bernadette’s seven other children would suffer while she was confined to a hospital bed with a high risk pregnancy, but she and her husband refused to kill Hannah in the womb.
Instead, they hoped and prayed. Hannah was born, not without problems, but she lived. Hannah spent a remarkable five years with her family before she died.
Her mother said, “Five beautiful years with her. I just want to tell mothers, ‘Don’t do this [abortion].’ I had to fight through it all. I wanted my baby alive and I wanted to carry her. We would have missed out on all of the beauty of life with my daughter.”

Choosing “The Simone Perspective”

The life-affirming Pregnancy Help Community lives out one perspective every day. Let’s call it, “Potential,” or what we might now term, “The Simone Perspective.” Those who carry a pro-choice label, and those in the abortion lobby, carry another. For fairness’ sake, let’s call it “Realism.”
We know Biles is leaving Rio with four gold medals and a bronze, perhaps giving the world the best Olympic gymnastics performance of all-time.

What a repeal of the Hyde Amendment would mean
The Guttmacher Institute is the abortion industry’s think tank, formerly a “special research affiliate” of Planned Parenthood, whose analyses the media treats reverentially.
If you go to the Guttmacher Policy Review dated September 13, 2013, you’ll learn a primary reason that Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party are determined to repeal the Hyde Amendment, an annually enacted law that prohibits federal Medicaid funding for abortion except in the cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother.
In the Review, you’ll find the conclusion that if the Hyde Amendment were repealed, “The number of abortions among Medicaid-eligible women nationwide would be expected to increase by approximately 33,000 [annually].”
Guttmacher sniffs that this would represent “only a 2.5% increase in the number of abortions performed nationwide,” although to anyone who does not draw a paycheck from the Abortion Industry or who has a heart, that is a lot of additional dead babies.
In fact, the impact would be even worse. As NRLC’s Federal Legislation Director Douglas Johnson noted, “It should be kept in mind that the 33,000 projection applies only to Medicaid, but the actual effects of losing the Hyde Amendment would be broader, because some other federal health programs (e.g., Indian Health Service) track the Hyde Amendment policy as well, either by law or as a political matter.”

“Worse Than Death” Meme Pushes Culture of Death
Assisted suicide is promoted in the USA with fear mongering about the terminally ill suffering with intractable pain for which nothing other than a lethal overdose will suffice.
In actual suicide facilitation, existential issues–such as fears about being a burden or loss of dignity–rather than untreatable pain are the reasons people cite for requesting assisted suicide.
These are important issues that need to be addressed. But, like pain, they are relievable and often respond to compassionate interventions.
The thing is, these very real difficulties also could apply to the non-terminally ill elderly and people with disabilities–threatening these populations with the assisted suicide temptation the more doctor-prescribed death is celebrated in the media and normalized in society.
And now, an article published in JAMA Internal Medicine–in the context of intensive care treatment decisions–creates a new “worse than death” medical category.

Hillary Clinton is a known quantity. As NRL News editor Dave Andrusko so succinctly summarized Clinton’s position, “Abortion for any reason or no reason, as late in pregnancy as desired, paid for by the public.” If she were elected president for four, maybe even eight years, what would be her legacy to this great country?
The short answer? A further entrenchment of abortion on demand and millions more unborn babies whose lives are ended because they are ‘inconvenient’ or someone deemed them not worthy of respect.
In the 1990s, when Hillary’s husband was president, their often quoted position was that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare.”
No one in the pro-life community ever believed that cover story, but many did.
Her position became very clear, however, with the Health Security Act, also known as Hillary Care. This “health” plan, formulated by Hillary Clinton and pushed by her husband’s administration, was a dream come true for the abortion industry. It would have required that every health plan or policy sold provide a federally defined benefits package which covered abortion on request; that every working American and every employer must purchase the federal benefits package, including abortion; and that abortion facilities be accessible in every region of every state. In addition, the law would have repealed many state laws on abortion including parental consent, waiting periods, limits on third-trimester abortions, conscience clauses, etc.
In other words, Hillary’s health plan would have been all abortion all the time. The pro-life community worked extremely hard to make sure that Hillary’s plan never became law.
