Abortion groups try to shut down pregnancy centers with protests, undercover investigations

The self-described “coven” of “feminists” has launched a campaign to recruit pro-abortion activists to infiltrate pregnancy care centers and look for evidence to put them out of business.

It’s an ironic twist to see abortion activists using pro-life strategies in an attempt to shut down pro-life pregnancy care centers. Abortion advocates are still in the process of trying to permanently put pro-life activist David Daleiden behind bars after he went undercover in 2015 to expose Planned Parenthood’s illegal selling of aborted baby body parts for profit.

China continues coercive family-planning measures, despite end of ‘one-child’ policy

Although the Chinese government has formally discontinued its brutal one-child policy, forced abortions continue, the Population Research Institute (PRI) has found.

A PRI investigation discovered that coercive family-planning measures remain in place, with government officials becoming even draconian in some parts of the country. “We have found evidence that China’s two-child policy in some parts of the country is being even more rigorously enforced than the one-child policy,” said PRI President Steven W. Mosher.

Couples are required to obtain permits from the government before having a 2nd child. Regulations in some jurisdictions require women to wait a specified number of years after childbirth before becoming pregnant with a 2nd child. “If they catch you pregnant with an illegal child, they take everything you have,” reported one woman who went into hiding because of an “illegal” pregnancy.

Under pressure, British NHS finally agrees to pay for surgery for toddler with exceedingly rare heart condition

Olivier Cameron will go to Boston’s Children’s Hospital

Oliver Cameron
In an unanticipated turn of events, last night the British National Health Service (NHS) finally agreed to pay for seven-month-old Oliver Cameron to go to Boston’s Children’s Hospital for surgery to address his extremely rare heart tumor. The son of Tim and Lydia Cameron will be moved after his first birthday (to give him the best chances post-surgery) or earlier if his condition worsens.

“An NHS spokesperson denied there had been a U-turn in Oliver’s case,” The Mirror reported. Really?

The NHS’s willingness to pay the estimated $194,000 comes less than two weeks after Great Ormond Street Hospital denied the parents of Charlie Gard the opportunity to take Charlie to New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center for experimental therapy. Charlie died July 28 when his ventilator was disconnected.

Medical waste disposal company stops doing business with ‘many Planned Parenthood’ clinics

Stericyle leaving Planned Parenthood
The country’s largest waste hauler confirmed that it has ceased doing business with hundreds of customers, “including many Planned Parenthood locations,” in the wake of a pro-life group’s campaign to stop the disposal of aborted children.

Medical waste firm Stericyle, Inc. ended business agreements with more than 400 customers in recent years, the company said in court papers, because the companies did not certify they would comply with an agreement to not use Stericycle to dispose of aborted babies.

12 ounce preemie goes home for the first time from Maryland NICU

Weighed the equivalent of three sticks of butter at birth

Ariana Sophia Cruz-Gutierrez
Ariana Sophia Cruz-Gutierrez’s birth was induced in March, and she weighed 350 grams or 12 ounces, equivalent to three sticks of butter. She went home last Thursday. She is the smallest surviving premature infant born at Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Last Thursday at noon, Ariana Sophia Cruz-Gutierrez was at last ready to go home for the first time, tiny at 4 pounds, 15 ounces, but by all outward appearances healthy.

Dr. Suzanne Rindfleisch, director of the NICU, told the Capital Gazette’s Wendi Winters that Ariana “was our smallest survivor.” Dr. Rindfleisch, who’s been at the hospital for 24 years, went on to tell Winters.

“She was 12 ounces and dropped to 8 ounces. It was a long and difficult course for her, but she has a bright future ahead. Being at 24 weeks gestation, all the issues of a premature birth were there with the placement of tubes and monitors. She had transfusions and intubations. Her head sonogram was normal, though. And her parents were by her side all these months.”

HUGE Free-Speech Win in Illinois, Where State is Trying to Force Pro-Lifers to Refer for Abortions

Illinois State Capitol Building
In July a federal judge in Illinois handed down a major victory for religious conscience and free speech protection, granting a statewide preliminary injunction against a 2016 law change that would force pro-life medical providers to refer patients to abortion businesses upon request.

Though the law has not yet been enforced despite a January 2017 effective date, the state’s 147 pro-life pregnancy centers—at least 74 of which offer free ultrasounds—have been vulnerable to the state’s demands for nearly seven months.

Gutting provisions previously enshrined in Illinois’ Healthcare Right of Conscience Act—once considered the gold standard of freedom protections in the U.S.—the 2016 change would have forced pro-life medical professionals of all kinds to cultivate a list of known abortion mills in their area to hand to patients.

The change—which was signed into law by Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner—also threatened to force pro-life medicos and pregnancy centers alike to counsel patients as to the so-called “benefits” of abortion.

Preemie twins’ survival was “touch-and-go,” but healthy and happy two years later

Had they been a few days younger, hospital staff would not have cared for them

Caroline Wirt with Premies
Mother Caroline said if the girls, pictured in hospital, had been born any earlier they would likely not have been given emergency treatment.

Caroline Wirt told the British publication The Daily Mail she hoped the story of daughters Sapphire and Ruby Wirt “would inspire other families.” Anyone reading Joseph Curtis’s great story would assure Mrs. Wirt she should have no worries about that!

Mrs. Curtis had experience problems along the way. Already the mother of three, she bled heavily and was hospitalized numerous times.

Then, suddenly, on January 4, 2015–at 23 weeks into her pregnancy–Mrs. Wirt’s water broke.

Rushed to the hospital she was placed on antibiotics only to contract sepsis–“an inflammatory response to an infection which can overload the body’s ability to cope,” as Curtis explained. “While she could be treated fairly easily, doctors couldn’t risk the twins contracting it and so they were forced to deliver them by emergency cesarean.”

The twins were born at only 24 weeks and “were little more than the size of their mother’s hand.” “They were then “covered in bubble wrap to keep warm after being delivered by cesarean section.”

“The doctors said it was very unlikely they would both survive. One of them might make it, but almost certainly not both of them,” Mrs. Curtis said.

“But they’ve overcome everything in their way which I’m sure is down to their unique bond. They’ve been together through everything and given each other the strength to survive.”

But there was another danger hanging over the delivery. There is no guarantee at all in Britain–in fact there is a presumption against–treating babies born before 24 weeks.

9-year-old goes viral trying to save babies

nine-year-old Briana
A pro-life counseling event was staged in mid-July at Women's Med Center abortion clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana, and pro-life supporters were present to counsel women in favor of life. During the event, nine-year-old Briana, without being encouraged to do so, retrieved a voice-amplifying headset and began trying to save the babies of the women entering the clinic. Another supporter grabbed her phone and started recording. The video was posted to the "Hoosier Babies" Facebook page and has since gone viral.

"There's so many things you can do as 'first things,'" Briana addressed the women while she stood outside the clinic. "The first things are awesome, too. You can have first birthdays, first Christmases, first everything, first day to hug your baby, first day to see her."

Briana was bold enough to put it on a more personal level for abortion-seeking women.

"I'm a nine-year-old and the voice of your baby right now. Don't kill me. Save me. Let me live. Let me see the world. Let me grow up so I can worship Jesus and God," she pleaded with the mothers. "That's what your baby is saying.

Charlie Gard opened his eyes, looked at his parents right before dying

Charlie Gard
It took 12 minutes for Charlie Gard to die after his ventilator was removed, his parents said in a new interview, and he "opened his eyes and looked at us one last time and closed them before he passed away."

Charlie died just one week before his first birthday. He captured the world's attention when his parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, raised more than $1.5 million to treat his rare mitochondrial disease. Chris and Connie wanted to pursue experimental treatment in the U.S.; Great Ormond Street Hospital wanted to remove Charlie's life support.

Vision 2020 - Week 26 - Sen. William E Brady (R) and Sen. MIchael Connelly (R)

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
Isaiah 40:8

Pray that our leaders:

will hold fast to righteousness and will not let it go (Job 27:6)
will stand in the gap for our state (Ezekiel 22:30)
will seek the LORD (Deuteronomy 4:29)

Vision 2020 and the Illinois Federation for Right to Life would like to invite you to join us in praying for our state legislators.  We will send out information about a couple different state representatives each week for you to pray over.

Consider sharing this information with your ministry partners, your church family, on your website and/or your Facebook page.

We know that prayer changes things.  And we know that NOTHING is impossible with God. So let's join our hearts and voices together and petition heaven on behalf of the great state of Illinois!

Some of our legislators need prayer that God will open their eyes and change their hearts (or move them out of their positions) and some need prayers that they will have the strength, courage and boldness to be able to stand firmly against the opposition as they fight for life and family values.

Actress Wears ‘Planned Parenthood Makes America Great’ Hat

Chloe Grace Moretz
America is great, according to one young actress, because of Planned Parenthood. Never mind that millions of Americans are missing today because of the abortion giant.

On Tuesday, actress Chloe Grace Moretz unabashedly advertised her support for Planned Parenthood by displaying a bright pink baseball cap.

A play on President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan (“Make America Great Again”), the hat read, “Planned Parenthood Makes America Great” in photos posted by the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old actress has attended Planned Parenthood rallies in the past.

But Moretz isn’t alone in supporting America’s largest abortion provider. She’s joined by hundreds of other Hollywood stars who wear Planned Parenthood as fashion (Emma Stone), repeat its talking points (Katy Perry), defend it amidst scandal (Scarlett Johansson) or promote its campaigns (Elizabeth Banks).

'Footprints' reveal why abortion scars women

Embryo
Vicki Thorn, head of The National Office of Post-Abortion Reconciliation & Healing, conducted extensive research on the biological aspect of abortion, some of which was posted by the National Institutes of Health. Thorn conveys to OneNewsNow the results of her research, which found that women carry the biological footprints of the babies they conceived.

"Women carry cells from every child they ever conceive the rest of their lives, and they stay in the body," states Thorn. "Those cells remain in different places and do different things." In an interview with Chicago Catholic, she identifies them as "microchimeric cells."

Thorn remarks that the NIH also noted women who have miscarriages or abortions actually carry more of these cells than the women who have carried their babies full-term, proving such a loss is impossible to forget.

Life Legal Files Petition in Supreme Court Contesting Gag Order Against Daleiden

Life Legal Defense Foundation
Life Legal Defense Foundation today filed a petition for writ of certiorari seeking review of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision in National Abortion Federation v. Center for Medical Progress.

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) filed a lawsuit against David Daleiden and his Center for Medical Progress (CMP) just weeks after Daleiden released videos showing Planned Parenthood directors negotiating the sale of baby body parts for profit. NAF sought a gag order prohibiting CMP from releasing additional footage recorded at its annual conferences, fearing further public scrutiny of the unethical and illegal business practices of its members. Federal judge William Orrick, who previously served on the board of an organization that "partnered" with Planned Parenthood, issued the order. In doing so, he held that Daleiden contracted away his First Amendment speech rights when he signed the non-disclosure agreement NAF requires of all conference attendees, to avert public relations disasters like that which followed late-term abortionist Martin Haskell's unveiling of the new technique of partial birth abortion at a NAF meeting in the 1990's.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the order without fully reviewing the case, as is required when First Amendment freedoms are at stake.

The Supreme Court has held the type of gag order issued by Judge Orrick to be unconstitutional prior restraints on speech, holding that prior restraints are "the most serious and least tolerable infringement on First Amendment rights." The Court has further held that the damage of gag orders "can be particularly great when the prior restraint falls upon the communication of news and commentary on current events," which is exactly what Daleiden's videos are.

International humanitarian group promotes and provides abortion

Kenya Mothers
Doctors Without Borders is a name that evokes images of fearless, compassionate medics in the world’s hot spots, braving war, epidemics and disaster to bring live-saving care to the sick, wounded, and dying.  But the international humanitarian group better known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is also an abortion provider and vocal advocate for “safe” abortion and boasts about performing abortions where the people have kept legal protection for their unborn children.

“Even worse, they do so under the guise of helping to reduce maternal deaths even though medical experts agree what mothers need is better prenatal care, skilled birth attendants, and emergency obstetric care,” she told LifeSiteNews in an email.

Will Democrats’ future include pro-lifers? The debate continues.

The Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia
A leading Democratic Party campaigner has signaled openness to pro-life candidates, continuing months of controversy over the party’s future.

Rep. Ben Ray Lujan (D-N.M.), who chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in charge of helping Democratic congressional candidates, told The Hill there would be no “litmus test” for candidates on abortion when it comes to funding their campaigns.

Democrats for Life cited the loss of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, traditionally strong Democratic states, in the 2016 presidential election. The states are “very pro-life,” the organization said.

Planned Parenthood delivers superhero capes to senators who voted to save its funding

Planned Parenthood "Superhero Capes"
Abortion activists delivered "I Stand With Planned Parenthood" capes to the "superheroes" who voted against defunding them. Last week, Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, cast the vote that doomed a bill axing Obamacare and defunding Planned Parenthood, America's largest abortion chain. It receives around half a billion dollars from the government each year.

"No real superhero would defend an organization that kills late-term babies in partial-birth abortions and sells their body parts afterwards like widgets off an assembly line," David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress told LifeSiteNews. "The real superheroes are the public officials who will finally stop forcing taxpayers to sponsor Planned Parenthood's barbaric abortion empire."

Catholic group fighting HHS mandate disappointed exemption still unissued

Department of Justice Building
The US Department of Justice did not drop its appeal of a HHS mandate lawsuit by the Catholic Benefits Association on Monday.

After the US Department of Justice did not drop its appeal of a contraceptive mandate lawsuit by the Catholic Benefits Association on Monday, the group expressed its disappointment.  “It is disappointing that that process hasn’t moved forward. It does seem to be stalled currently,” Douglas Wilson, CEO of the Catholic Benefits Association, told CNA Tuesday.

While the mandate ordered employers to provide cost-free coverage in their employee health plans for contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortion-inducing drugs, the government offered an “accommodation” to non-profits that conscientiously objected to complying with the mandate. They would notify the government or the third party administrator of their plan of their objection, and their administrator would then provide the coverage to the employees.

Many non-profits, including the Archdiocese of Washington and the Little Sisters of the Poor, claimed that this “accommodation” still forced them to cooperate with morally-objectionable practices.
