An Illinois teen is facing a murder charge after being accused of throwing her newborn baby out of her apartment window—located on the eighth floor of the building.
Mubashra Uddin, 19, was denied bail Saturday after being arraigned in Cook County Bond Court on a first degree murder charge. Police believe that Uddin gave birth Wednesday night and then threw her newborn daughter out of the window onto the grassy area below.
The baby was found at approximately 11:45 p.m. by a bystander who wrapped the baby in blankets while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The child, who was breathing at the time she was found, was rushed to Weiss Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead. She suffered numerous injuries, including a fractured spine, skull and ribs, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Abortion evangelist Leroy Carhart featured at family planning forum in Chicago
The Association of Reproductive Health Professional met in Chicago Monday, and the infamous late term abortion evangelist Leroy Carhart was among the guests leaving the Palmer House Hilton Monday, where dozens of pro-life activists were protesting.
ProLife Action League caught a photo of Carhart, who was among those attending the ARHP's 2015 Annual Meeting in conjunction with the North American Forum on Family Planning. The "family planning" discussions involved groups that are accused of selling baby body parts acquired during abortions.
ARHP's meeting took place as a pre-conference to the Forum on Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 7:30 am to 11:30 am

Couric: Pro-Lifers Make It ‘Harder Than Ever’ to Work at Planned Parenthood
Liberal, pro-abortion journalist Katie Couric on Tuesday interviewed the President of Planned Parenthood and worried about how “tough” pro-life supporters were making things for the organization. Couric snidely noted, “While Planned Parenthood says that abortions account for just three percent of its clinical work, opponents won’t be happy until that number is zero.”
(Couric did not point out that the organization makes hundreds of millions from abortions.) Talking to President Cecile Richards, the journalist, who now interviews people for Yahoo, fretted, “The videos inflamed already passionate critics, making it harder than ever for the organization to do its job. How tough is it to find clinicians who are willing to work at Planned Parenthood clinics and what kinds of challenges do they face?”
Speaking of scandal related to undercover videos, Couric gently questioned:
KATIE COURIC: Planned Parenthood has always had its opponents, but the videos created outrage in the anti-abortion community and galvanized conservative members of Congress. The result? The real possibility of cutting taxpayer dollars that go to Planned Parenthood. Eliminating 41 percent of its 1.3 billion annual budget. What would defunding Planned Parenthood have done to this organization?
The journalist should be commended for at least asking a few tough questions. She referred to Planned Parenthood as “controversial” and pressed about the hidden footage: “Did they, even if they were edited in your view, expose a side of Planned Parenthood that needed exposing?”
But, overall, the interview tilted towards sympathy for Richards. That shouldn’t be surprising as Couric in 2008 won an award from the pro-abortion National Organization for Women.

Living Hope that Speaks to Life
The words still haunt my mind: “In memory of our aborted grandchild.”
I have signed hundreds of acknowledgments for gifts given in memory of someone, but this one—it just seemed out of place. What was it doing there with the others? What kind of culture do we live in that precipitates such unnatural sorrow?
It is a culture of death, a culture that results from hopelessness and leads to hopelessness. This culture persuaded the son or daughter of the above grandparents that things were hopeless and the only way out of this situation was the death of the baby. But the reality of this desperate and hopeless act only brought despair and hopelessness.
It struck me on a personal level that I was about to sign this one as I signed all the others, those given in memory of a grandma or a husband, etc., as if they were the same. The culture of death fosters that kind of thinking as well. It numbs us to the scope of the horror of abortion and of choosing death to solve our problems at any stage of life. Our culture leads us to believe these are just “issues” on par with so many others.

Jahi Family: Examining Neurologist Finds She’s Alive
When last we visited the Jahi McMath case, a judge gave her mother the chance to file an amended complaint showing that Jahi is alive, with the assurance that if properly pleaded, evidence of life could be brought She seems to have done just that.
From Thaddeus Mason Pope’s blog Medical Futility, quoting the amended complaint:
In the opinion of the pediatric neurologist who has examined Jahi, having spent hours with her and reviewed numerous videotapes of her, that time has proven that Jahi has not followed the trajectory of imminent total body deterioration and collapsed that was predicted back in December of 2013, based on the diagnosis of brain death. Her brain is alive in the neuropathological sense and it is not necrotic. At this time, Jahi does not fulfill California’s statutory definition of death, which requires the irreversible absence of all brain function, because she exhibits hypothalamic function and intermittent responsiveness to verbal commands.
If the neurologist testifies to what the complaint says–and if he or she has the credentials claimed–history could be made.

Dads Need a Life-Giving Voice in Crisis Pregnancies
The crucial role of men in society and the family has been sidelined for many reasons. Whether men feel their diminished importance is due to forces outside of themselves, or they just lack the desire to live up to their God-given responsibilities, the bottom line is, too often, the voices of men have been silent in the life decision.
Instilled within every man are the desires and capabilities to be a father—a provider and protector of his family. But 42 years and tens of millions of abortions this side of Roe v. Wade have left many men in a position of passivity and indecisiveness, confused and helpless when it comes to the most basic duty of protecting their own preborn children.
Meanwhile, legalized abortion provides an escape hatch of sorts for men who are unwilling to accept the responsibility to care for the life they have helped to create. Others, threatening to leave or even physically harm the mother of their child in order to avoid fatherhood, coerce their partner into aborting her preborn child against her will.

Adoption: A loving, life-saving, realistic alternative to abortion
Infant adoption has become rarer since 1973. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Adoption USA Chartbook, prior to 1973, about 8.7% of never married women who gave birth made a plan for adoption. However that dramatically dropped to 1% in the 1990s.
While the HHS Chartbook mentions the role of reproductive technology such as in vitro fertilization giving childless couples the chance to conceive on their own, the abortion deaths of millions of babies who could have been available for adoption also surely played a role.
There is great openness to adoption in the American public. A 2002 survey of women aged 18-44 found 33.1% considering abortion with 23.2% of those actually taking steps to adopt a child. An adoption activist writing in 2008 said that there were more women seeking to adopt unrelated children than there were foster children awaiting adoption (Katz, Washington Post, 11/8/08).
Adoption affirms the unborn child’s right to life, allowing each baby to enter the world as a blessing for another family. Adopted children do well in school and show high levels of self-esteem, optimism, social competency, feelings of security. They are less likely to be depressed, use alcohol, and engage in vandalism, theft, group fighting, and use weapons.

Supreme Court Grants Review in HHS Mandate
Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, announced this afternoon that the US Supreme Court has accepted the Priests for Life case against HHS mandate.
Six other cases were also granted review by the Court, and they are listed below.
"This is a great day in our battle for religious freedom against the culture of death, which wants us to participate in the spread of abortion. We will not do so, and we look forward to making our case at the Supreme Court," Fr. Pavone said.
"This is great news that the Court has granted cert in our case against the HHS mandate," said Robert Muise of the American Freedom Law Center, which represents Priests for Life. "Along with the other cases that have been consolidated along with ours, it is particularly appropriate that Priests for Life has been fighting this mandate, since the very purpose of the organization is to oppose the very activities that the mandate supports, particularly abortion."

A Surprising, Pro-Life Lesson from Dr. Seuss
“A person’s a person, no matter how small!”
Many children grow up reading Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, the classic story of a brave elephant who works to protect the tiny people of Whoville from destruction. At the end of the tale, the Whos are saved because Horton believes he has a duty to protect those who can’t protect themselves. Horton famously states, “A person’s a person, no matter how small!” Though Dr. Seuss may not have intended it, this story teaches a timeless lesson on the value of life, no matter how small it is.
It is interesting that such a simple and eloquent pro-life statement was spoken by a fictional elephant. If only some Members of Congress would think like Horton and see the value inherent in all lives. If only they would see that a child is a child no matter how small and that we all have a duty to protect life from those who wish to take it away.
There was a time when the abortion industry thrived on the lie that life does not begin at conception, and therefore an abortion does not kill a child. However, science caught up and debunked this claim, so next the industry took refuge in the belief that unborn children do not feel pain, which has now also been disproven. Now, with their foundation crumbling beneath them, the abortion lobby has elected to ignore the life matter altogether and focus on women’s rights (or, as was the case during a recent Planned Parenthood hearing, the need for gun control, better sex education, and various other off-topic subjects).

Medicare to Pay for End-of-Life Planning
I have no objections to paying doctors to help people plan the kind treatment they would want if incapacitated. And now, Medicare is paying for it. From the New York Times story:
Under the rule, officials said, Medicare would pay $86 for the first 30 minutes of “advance care planning” in a doctor’s office and $80 for the service in a hospital. In both settings, they said, Medicare will pay up to $75 for 30 additional minutes of consultation. These standard amounts can be adjusted for differences in costs in different parts of the country.
While this isn’t a “death panel,” it is important that the conversations don’t push people into refusing care–which some fear could happen (not unreasonably) given the cost-saving drive of the Obamacare technocracy.
Politicians say the focus should be on making sure patient decisions are honored.

Planned Parenthood Sells Building and is now Paying $1 a Month to Rent it Back
Planned Parenthood of Illinois sold its Springfield building to the Springfield Mass Transit District for the district's future bus transfer center.
Planned Parenthood received $470,000 in federal grant funding from SMTD for its property at 1OOO E. Washington St.
Planned Parenthood is now paying only $1 per month as a month-to-month lease with SMTD.
Tim Moore, the president of Springfield Right to Life, stated that he learned of the sale recently and has pledged to work to prevent Planned Parenthood from opening a facility elsewhere in the Springfield area.
Moore said pro-lifers will call upon local zoning officials and municipal officials to turn down any such requests from Planned Parenthood.
Some information taken from the State Journal Register.

It can’t be true, right? Adult Stem Cells Effective Against MS

Except, those who argued that adult stem cells offered great potential are the ones being proven right–as embryonic successes are almost nowhere to be seen. Now, the early indications of a possibly efficacious treatment for MS are looking to be even more hopeful.
From the Science Alert story:
A group of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients have had their immune systems destroyed and then rebuilt using their own blood stem cells. Three years later, 86 percent of them have had no relapses, and 91 percent are showing no signs of MS development.

Uninspected Illinois abortion clinics death traps for women
The problem in Illinois is that often there is almost no regulation of abortion facilities.
“With about half the abortion clinics in Illinois, we can't even find out what's happening inside these places because they are under no inspection regime,” Scheidler tells OneNewsNow.
“So I hope this is ... a call to the state officials of Illinois to finally restore state oversight and inspection of abortion clinics.”
Scheidler says there's no way to know what horrific conditions might be present, so women are potentially taking a risk by having abortions in Illinois.

“I don’t think Planned Parenthood should get a red cent from the taxpayer” says new House Speaker Paul Ryan
If you had the chance to watch newly elected pro-life Speaker of the House Paul Ryan(R-Wi.) on even a couple of the Sunday talk shows yesterday (he was on five!), you could readily see why he is pro-life John Boehner’s successor. Ryan is smart, articulate, funny, quick on his feet, and aware that the White House is still controlled by pro-abortion President Barack Obama with Senate Democrats more dedicated than ever to protecting Planned Parenthood .
Asked about defunding Planned Parenthood on “State of the Union,” Ryan told CNN’s Dana Bush
“I don’t think Planned Parenthood should get a red cent from the taxpayer. I’ve always believed that, even before these disgusting videos came out. But I believe we need to do our oversight. We’re just beginning to start a committee to investigate Planned Parenthood. That’s important. So the special committee on Planned Parenthood, I think, should be in the driver’s seat overseeing this process.”
“Congressman Ryan has a deep, abiding respect for all human life, including unborn children and their mothers, the disabled, and the elderly,” said National Right to Life President Carol Tobias. Ryan has compiled a 100% voting record from National Right to Life ever since he entered the House in 1989.

Illinois Governor deaf to appeals to defund abortion giant
The Illinois movement to defund Planned Parenthood has arisen due to the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood executives discussing the harvesting and sale of aborted baby body parts. David Smith, who heads the Illinois Family Institute, has instigated a multi-pronged approach to defund the abortion-provider.
“A group of over 200 pro-life citizens from across the state of Illinois met at the governor's mansion in Springfield and did a prayer walk around the governor's mansion, a Jericho prayer march, demanding, praying, hoping and witnessing for life,” he explains.
Smith says they are asking that all state business with Planned Parenthood be terminated, but Governor Bruce Rauner hasn't shown a real acknowledgement of their demands. “They did respond to the media saying 'no comment,'” he tells OneNewsNow.

Twenty-Seven Year Battle Delivers Pro-Life Victory in Chicago
The Albany Medical-Surgical Center Family Planning Associates abortion clinic, 5086 N. Elston Avenue in Chicago, closed its doors on October 17, in the wake of safety inspections conducted by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The shutdown follows 27 years of community objection to the center, led by the Pro-Life Action League, and the group's pressure on state officials to hold the clinic accountable for safety violations.
Eric Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League, stated, "This is a victory for all who value human life. This abortion provider operated for years without any safety inspections, and multiple women have died following abortions performed there. Now that its doors have closed, this neighborhood is safer for women and their unborn children." From the time that the clinic opened in 1988, the Pro-Life Action League has organized sidewalk counseling, conducted protests and coordinated prayer vigils outside of the Albany neighborhood abortion provider.
Albany Medical-Surgical Center was sued by the family of 13 year-old Deanna Bell, who died during an abortion there in September 1992. The same Elston Avenue Family Planning Associates abortion clinic was cited in the abortion deaths of 22 year-old Maria Rodriguez in 2000, Maria Leho—a mother of three—in 1999 and Nakia Jorden in 1998.

Prayer march calls for Illinois to end Planned Parenthood funding
Saturday, pro-life supporters marched around Illinois' Governor's Mansion, calling on Republican Governor Bruce Rauner to cut state funding to abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
Thus far, Governor Rauner has not responded to any pro-life groups' calls to investigate the 18 Planned Parenthood clinics throughout the state, nor has he initiated executive action to cut the budget expenditure as his GOP colleagues in others state have.
The pray-ers requests Saturday were not unseemly or outrageous, as the Daily Caller reports nearly 25 other states - including Illinois' neighbors to the north and east - no longer send taxpayer funds to Planned Parenthood clinics.

US House votes to defund Planned Parenthood, but not without controversy
Amid continuing controversy over fetal tissue harvesting at abortion clinics, the U.S. House of Representatives voted Friday to defund Planned Parenthood and to reroute funding to community health centers.
“Women have the most to gain from congressional action to reroute these tax dollars to community and rural health centers, which provide comprehensive health care services to women, but do not abort the lives of unborn children and harvest their body parts,” the pro-life political action committee the Susan B. Anthony List said Oct. 23.
The bill also guts key parts of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, including the repeal of the law’s individual health insurance mandate and the employer health insurance mandate. This ultimately drew the opposition of Democratic pro-lifers.

Boehner selects GOP panel to probe abortion practices
In what critics say is an attempt to placate conservatives, outgoing House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has announced his picks for the new Select Investigative Panel that will probe the practices of abortion providers like Planned Parenthood.
The new committee will have the resources and subpoena power to “get to the bottom of these horrific practices, and build on our work to protect the sanctity of all human life,” Mr. Boehner said.
The following Republican representatives will make up the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s new investigative panel: Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Chairman (R-TN), Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA), Rep. Diane Black (R-TN), Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN)Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. Vicki Hartzler (R-MO), and Rep. Mia Love (R-UT).

U.S. House passes pro-life reconciliation bill
The U.S. House of Representatives Friday passed the “Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act,” (H.R. 3762), 240-189. Among other things, the bill would block, for one year, most federal payments to affiliates of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).
H.R. 3762 is a special type of legislation called a “reconciliation bill.” This means that it cannot be blocked in the Senate by the filibuster, which has been the main obstacle to previous attempts to pass legislation to defund Planned Parenthood. Nevertheless, the bill faces formidable obstacles in the Senate.
The bill would close the largest pipeline for federal funding of Planned Parenthood, Medicaid, and apply as well to the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the Title V and Title XX block grant programs. These sources account for roughly 89% of all federal funds that currently flow to Planned Parenthood. Under the bill, the amounts denied to Planned Parenthood are reallocated to community health centers.

Is a Notorious Chicago Abortion Clinic Quietly Closing?
The Albany Medical-Surgical Center abortion facility, run by the Family Planning Associates (FPA) chain, has long been notorious for not-safe-but-legal abortions, as witnessed chiefly by four (4) women who died following abortions performed there: Maria Rodriguez, Nakia Jorden, Maria Leho, and, most tragically of all, 13-year old Deanna Bell.
The last day the Albany abortion clinic was open was Saturday, October 17. Since then, it’s been closed. A sign on the door now directs people to another FPA abortion facility in downtown Chicago, and the large sign in the facility’s parking lot that formerly said, “Family Planning Associates Medical Group” is now blank.
Whether this closure is temporary or permanent remains to be seen, but regardless, we know that babies are no longer being killed there, and that is cause for rejoicing—especially considering that this news comes in the midst of a 40 Days for Life vigil held outside Albany for the sixth consecutive year.

Assisted Suicide Coercion Happens Behind Closed Doors
Assisted suicide propagandists insist that doctors will never assist suicides if they think a person is being coerced to die.
How in the hell would they know? Family pressure isn’t exerted with a gun to the head that can be seen on an X-ray. It occurs in daily nudges and winks–subtle pushes–that drive the vulnerable person toward the abyss.
One such example appears in the New York Times Magazine today, in a first person account of Carlos Framb, who pushed his mother–growing blind and debilitated with old age–into assisted suicide in Colombia. Click here for more...

Top OAS Official Seeks to Legalize Abortion in the Americas
The new Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) criticized pro-life laws and policies in Latin America and the Caribbean during remarks at UN Women’s Global Leaders Meeting on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment: A Commitment to Action.
Luis Almagro, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay and now OAS Secretary General, spoke in the context of the post 2015 development agenda and called for the overturning of laws restricting and prohibiting abortion in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Secretary General claimed that he supports “more rights for more people” but then called for the removal of rights from an entire group of individuals– unborn children– stating:
“From the perspective of women’s rights, we are still facing two major challenges. First, the limitations of the scope and reach of women’s rights: the Americas continue to have some of the most restrictive laws regarding sexual and reproductive rights and freedoms, and that reality has to change.”

CALL ALERT -- U.S. House votes Friday on $400 million Planned Parenthood cut
Biden announces he will not run for President in 2016
By now you’ve probably heard that pro-abortion Vice President Joe Biden said he will not be a candidate for his party’s presidential nomination.
I’m not entirely sure I understood his opening remarks, which were both intensely personal and a brief nuts and bolts explanation of “the process.” However the conclusion of his remarks, made in the White House Rose Garden came early: “Unfortunately I believe we’re out of time, the time necessary to mount a winning campaign for the nomination.” Or, as he put it, the “window” had closed.
Looking ahead to the race that will culmination in November 2016, the most interesting comment was Mr. Biden’s fierce defense of the Obama record. Arguing that the nation (under Obama’s leadership) was on the “cusp of resurgence,” Biden said
This party, our nation would be making a tragic mistake if we walk away or attempt to undo the Obama legacy. …Democrats should not only defend this record and protect this record, they should run on this record.
In plain English, Hillary Clinton should run for Obama’s third term.

Research reveals men’s sense of grief and helplessness in response to woman’s abortion
Studies on women’s negative responses to their abortions have appeared frequently over the past couple of decades. But research on men’s reactions to the abortion of their child have been harder to find.
Now, new research by Catherine T. Coyle and Vincent M. Rue appearing in the October 2015 issue of Counseling and Values offers “A Thematic Analysis of Men’s Experience With a Partner’s Elective Abortion.”
Coyle and Rue report on responses to an online survey of 89 men whose partner (wife or more often girlfriend) had undergone an abortion. The size of the sample and the manner of self-selection (it depended on men finding the website) make it difficult to make any broad statistical observations but still offers valuable experiential data.
Accounts of their experiences are compelling and heart-breaking reading. There are painful commonalities, especially among those whose input into the decision was not welcomed.

U.S. House to Vote Friday October 23 on Fast-Track Bill to De-Fund Planned Parenthood, Repeal Some Obamacare Rationing Provisions
The Republican leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives has announced that the House will vote on Friday, October 23, on the “pro-life reconciliation bill” — a fast-track bill (H.R. 3762) containing multiple pro-life provisions.
H.R. 3762 is a special once-a-year measure called the “reconciliation bill.” Unlike almost every other kind of bill, the “reconciliation bill” cannot be filibustered in the U.S. Senate — so it can pass with only 51 votes, rather than 60 (of 100 senators). Republicans currently hold a narrow majority in the U.S. Senate, 54-46.
But before the bill can be considered by the Senate, it first must pass the House on October 23.
The bill contains two major sections:
-The bill would block, for one year, most federal payments to Planned Parenthood. At least 89% of federal funding of Planned Parenthood would be blocked by this bill.
-The bill would repeal a number of major components of the Obamacare health law, including two of the major provisions that will lead to rationing of lifesaving care — the “Independent Payment Advisory Board” and the “excess benefits tax.”
Please act now — urge your representative in the U.S. House of Representatives to support the “reconciliation bill” (H.R. 3762), to defund Planned Parenthood and repeal two major health-care rationing components of Obamacare!
It takes just minutes to send an email to your representative, employing the easy-to-use tools at the National Right to Life Legislative Action Center. When you enter your address, you will automatically be directed to the correct representative. You’ll even be given a model message about the pro-life reconciliation bill, which you can modify as you see fit. Click here to go to the Legislative Action Center now.
What is the Unborn? A Case for Biological Humanity from Fertilization
Before you can even answer the question of whether or not abortion is moral, you must first decide what the unborn is. For as Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason observes, if the unborn is not human, then no justification for elective abortion is necessary. It would be no different from having a mole removed or a tooth pulled. But if the unborn is human, then no justification for elective abortion is adequate.
If it’s true that no one can tell when human life begins, then the benefit of the doubt should go to life. We should not be aborting the unborn because there’s a chance we could be aborting living human entities. If a hunter hears a rustling in the woods, does he shoot right away or does he make sure the rustling wasn’t caused by another human? Or if you’re driving down a road in the dark and you see the outline of something that may be a child or may simply be the shadow of a tree, do you drive into it or do you slow down? Or if you’re about to blow up a condemned building and you’re not sure if someone’s inside, do you blow it up anyway or send someone in to make sure?
However, it’s not true that no one can tell when human life begins.
The unborn from fertilization are alive because they exhibit the properties of living things. They grow through cellular reproduction and division, they metabolize food for energy, and they respond to stimuli. In fact, the only things the unborn need to survive are adequate nutrition, a proper environment, and an absence of fatal threats. That’s all any of us need. There is no point in human development at which the developing entity goes from non-life to living.

Behind the façade, customers Yelp about their horrible PPFA experiences
Writing at The Federalist, Hemingway alerted her readers to “’All Sorts of Nasty’: These 39 Yelp Reviews of Planned Parenthood Clinics will Horrify You.”
If you’re like me, you may not know that Yelp is “a popular online customer review application.” The service may be popular, but the posts describing what women went through at the nation’s largest abortion provider included “’Experience was awful,’ ‘insanely horrible,’ ‘filthy,’ ‘frankly, I am scared,’ ‘1 word: disgusting.’”
According to Hemingway, the responses were from clinics located in Falls Church, VA; Silver Spring, MD; Washington, D.C.; Montgomery Village, MD,; Miami, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, NC; Virginia Beach, VA; Richmond, VA; Lancaster, PA; and Philadelphia, PA.

‘The View’ Slams Kelsey Grammer for Wearing Pro-Life T-Shirt
Despite its many panelists, ABC’s The View has always pushed one view, and it certainly has never been conservative or pro-life.
So imagine how the ladies at the liberal talk show reacted when actor Kelsey Grammer posted a photo of himself wearing a pro-life shirt to his Instagram account last week. The ensuing confusion over a Hollywood elite having a different view than their own left the panel dumbfounded Monday.
The t-shirt Grammer wore was designed by pro-life advocacy group Abort73, and compared abortion violence to gun violence by asking, “Would it bother us more if we used guns?”
The shirt prompted a discussion on The View where the crew slammed the male actor for getting in-between a “choice between [a woman] and her God.

Jerry Brown Vetoes Right to Try and Live Bill
This makes zero sense. Last week, Gov. Jerry Brown signed assisted suicide into law in California. This week, he vetoed a bill that would have allowed dying patients to access experimental drugs in an attempt to live. From the Sacramento Bee story:
Less than a week after signing legislation allowing California doctors to prescribe their dying patients lethal drugs, Gov. Jerry Brown on Sunday vetoed a bill that would have let terminally ill people petition pharmaceutical companies for access to experimental drugs before they are approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
The so-called “right-to-try” legislation had gained support in more than a dozen states, and it sailed through the Legislature with nearly unanimous support.

Planned Parenthood Stops Taking Money for Baby Parts
In a move borne out of desperation, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards has announced that effective immediately, Planned Parenthood affiliates will no longer accept money in exchange for aborted baby body parts.
"Planned Parenthood has been caught with their bloody hands in the cash register. They are now trying to back-track their criminal conduct while making attacking accusations against the investigators. This will not work," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who also serves on the board of the Center for Medical Progress, which released videos that revealed Planned Parenthood's participation in the illegal trafficking of aborted baby remains.
"It is interesting to watch Planned Parenthood officials squirm. No amount of denial or pretending it won't happen again should be allowed to let them off the hook. I renew my call for criminal prosecutions of all Planned Parenthood employees involved in criminal conduct," said Newman. "Planned Parenthood should not be held above the law."

Abstinence proponent: Teens need 'healthier' message
The survey, conducted in July by the Barna Group, reveals that about 40 percent of 18- and 19-year-olds feel their contraceptive-focused sex ed classes make sex seem like an expectation. In other words, says Valerie Huber of the National Abstinence Education Association, those teens are feeling more pressure from their sex ed classes to have sex than from their dating partners.
"When you make comments [like] We know you're going to have sex, but just try to do it safely – what kind of message is that sending?" Huber asks. "Well, according to these teens, it's sending the message: We expect you to have sex."
The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (comprehensive sex ed) is contraceptive-based; in contrast, the Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) approach is abstinence-based. Currently 95 percent of funding goes to the latter, leaving only five percent for abstinence.

Pro-lifers push filibuster-proof plan in Senate
More than 35 pro-life organizations signed a letter to Congress calling for pro-lifers on Capitol Hill to try again to defund Planned Parenthood after a Democrat-led filibuster killed an earlier bill.
Marilyn Musgrave of Susan B. Anthony List explains the U.S. Senate can use a process known as "reconciliation," which allows a simple majority of votes, 51, to skirt around a filibuster.
Citing the filibuster and a lack of 60 pro-life senators, Musgrave explains, "we can avoid that and just have a simple majority to pass something, and get it on the desk of the President, if you're successful."

House Judiciary Committee Continues Hearings Investigating Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Business
The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary today held a second hearing examining Planned Parenthood’s abortion business. The hearing, titled “”Planned Parenthood Exposed: Examining Abortion Procedures and Medical Ethics at the Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider,” comes on the heels of a series of videos by The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) exposing the gruesome business of baby-body-part harvesting and trafficking, often involving affiliates of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), the nation’s largest abortion provider
“Planned Parenthood now commands about one-third of the total abortion ‘market’,” said Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president. “We fully support investigations into many aspects of this grisly business. Planned Parenthood equals abortion.”
Among today’s witnesses testifying before the Committee on the Judiciary were former abortionist Anthony Levatino, M.D., J.D. and Susan Thayer, former center manager of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s Storm Lake, Iowa clinic.

Religious groups demand Governor Rauner cut Planned Parenthood state funding
The Christian Emergency League, along with the Illinois Family Institute and other pro-life organizations in Illinois, are demanding that Gov. Rauner take action immediately to cut off all state funds going to Planned Parenthood.
They're planning a "Jericho Prayer March" around the governor's mansion.
"Recent videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress have exposed very clearly the gruesome practices in particular of Planned Parenthood," says Christian Liberty Pastor Calvin Lindstrom. "Attention has been given to Mark Kirk for his refusal to vote for cutting off funding for Planned Parenthood, but what pressure is being placed on Gov. Rauner?"
Illinois' comptroller records show that in Fiscal Year 2015, Illinois' cash-strapped taxpayers sent nearly $8 million to Planned Parenthood of Illinois and other affiliates.

Congress Can Receive Full Unedited Footage of Undercover Investigation
Court Rules that Congress Can Receive Full Unedited Footage of Undercover Investigation into National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood
This afternoon, in response to arguments by the Thomas More Society, counsel for David Daleiden, U.S. District Judge William H. Orrick III has ruled that David Daleiden and The Center for Medical Progress may respond to Congress's subpoena seeking all unedited video footage of Daleiden's undercover investigation into trafficking in fetal body parts by Planned Parenthood and other National Abortion Federation affiliates.
"The National Abortion Federation has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep David Daleiden's footage of its annual meetings out of the hands of law enforcement and the Congress," said Peter Breen, Thomas More Society Special Counsel. "We're pleased that the District Court has today decided to allow Congress to seek the unedited footage of the wrongdoing uncovered by David's investigation. We will continue to urge the District Court to allow David to release more undercover videos featuring the footage from these annual meetings to the public, so that the American people can make their own assessment of the practices of Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation."
Judge Orrick's order further stated that, "Importantly in our Constitutional system, there are three equal branches of government, and courts should refrain from creating needless friction with a coordinate branch of government."

Bill to protect babies from being torn apart
Congress is being asked to approve a pro-life bill that likely wouldn't survive a vote in the Senate, but if it were approved would end by being vetoed by the president. However, the battle will continue to be fought until the bill is passed and signed into law.
Veteran pro-life Congressman Chris Smith (R-New Jersey) recently introduced the Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act (H.R. 3515). Douglas Johnson of the National Right to Life Committee explains what the dismemberment abortion procedure entails.
“It involves literally dismembering the unborn child with steel tools, clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors and other steel tools that depend on the convergence of two rigid levers to slice, crush or grasp a portion of the child's body and to cut it and rip it off,” he explains.

Illinois conservatives could find Kirk alternative in IL GOP primary
A businessman from Oswego, Illinois has stepped forward to challenge Illinois U.S. Senator Mark Kirk in the 2016 Illinois Republican Party - and he's building support among Illinois conservative Republicans and Tea Party activists.
James Marter, a 42 year old computer analyst, hasn't held elected office before, but in a year when voters are flocking to Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson, what would normally be considered a detriment in a statewide election, coming from a business background could be a plus.
Marter says he is "deeply concerned" with repealing Obamacare, wants to defund Planned Parenthood and would support prolife legislation.
That's in direct contrast to the incumbent Mark Kirk, acconding to Marter.

"Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day" and Planned Parenthood
Since 2006, October 15 has been designated by Congress as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States.
This day is intended for the remembrance of “pregnancy loss and infant death, which includes but is not limited to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or the death of a newborn.”
This is a lovely recognition of the painful loss of a baby, something millions of Americans have experienced. It’s a loss no parent ever wants to know.
Exactly one week before this date, the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing titled, “Planned Parenthood Exposed: Examining Abortion Procedures and Medical Ethics at the Nation's Largest Abortion Provider.” The hearing, which will take place in the Rayburn House Office building, will address issues raised by the release this summer of a series of videos showing Planned Parenthood officials haggling over the details of harvesting organs from aborted unborn children -- and even discussing techniques for aborting those children so as to optimize the collection of their body parts.

Life Chain hopes when church lets out, people stand up
Sunday, October 4 is the 28th annual Life Chain.
Royce Dunn, national director of Life Chain, says pro-lifers will hold signs describing the "Abortion Holocaust."
The hope is that pastors after church services will lead members of their congregation to the locations to prayerfully stand against abortion.
Dunn says it's time for churches and pastors to end the silence. He says the fight is spiritual warfare.
"In order for a Holocaust to settle in on any nation," Dunn explains, "those spiritual forces have to subdue their opposition just like in a military campaign."

The US House of Representatives has passed the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act, a bill introduced by Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) that grants states the discretion not to provide Medicaid funding to abortion providers.
The National Committee for a Human Life Amendment, which works closely with the US bishops’ conference on pro-life legislation, supports the bill.
The bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate, and the 236-193 House vote falls over 50 votes short of the two-thirds majority needed to override a presidential veto.

NRLC asks Congress to include language defunding Planned Parenthood in Reconciliation Package
The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of state right-to-life organizations, urges you (member of Congress) to actively work for inclusion of language to defund Planned Parenthood in the reconciliation package that is now being assembled for consideration by the House of Representatives in the near future.
Other measures to defund Planned Parenthood have been blocked by filibuster in the Senate. The reconciliation process provides a legislative path that avoids the filibuster. NRLC cannot support a reconciliation bill that does not include such language.
According to a Government Accountability Office report released March 20, 2015, PPFA received $344.5 million in federal funds over three fiscal years (2010-2012), and another $1.2 billion in funding from Medicaid (a combination of state and federal funds), for a three-year total of $1.5 billion from federal programs.
Over one-third of all abortions in the U.S. are performed at PPFA-affiliated facilities – indeed, one senior Planned Parenthood official boasted in 2014, “We have 40 percent of the [abortion] market in the whole country.” PPFA requires every affiliate to provide abortions. Longstanding objections to the massive federal funding of PPFA have been reinforced by recent widely publicized undercover videos, which illuminate involvement by some PPFA affiliates and executives in the harvesting and selling of baby body parts. For additional up-to-date information on the extent of Planned Parenthood’s involvement in abortion, see: www.nrlc.org/communications/ppfamediabackground/

Stop 'corporate welfare' for Planned Parenthood, pro-life Democrats say
The House on Tuesday passed a bill allowing states to withhold Medicaid funds from health care providers that perform abortions.
The Women’s Public Health and Safety Act, introduced by Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wisc.) passed the House largely along party lines in a 236-193 vote Sept. 29. Only two Democrats – Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) and Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) – supported the bill. Nine Republicans voted against it.
Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-Ill.) said that “Given the appalling activities revealed to be occurring at Planned Parenthood clinics, states should have the option to direct tax dollars away from abortion providers like Planned Parenthood and toward comprehensive health care providers,” shortly after the vote.
Although the House successfully voted to strip Planned Parenthood of federal funding in the wake of the controversy, the Senate has failed to do so. Both houses have passed a short-term Continuing Resolution that funds the government through Dec. 11 and continues funding Planned Parenthood. The funding resolution was passed in the House 277-151 on Sept. 30, with a large majority of Republicans voting against it.

House Committee releases findings on Planned Parenthood finances
Planned Parenthood is self-sustaining, and the need for federal taxpayer funds to keep their doors open is questionable, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform reported Tuesday.
They also found:
-Planned Parenthood reported $1.3B in revenue in 2014; 41% of which came from government funding.
-Obamacare makes federal funding for Planned Parenthood duplicative
-Salaries at Planned Parenthood are lucrative
-Planned Parenthood spends millions on travel, galas and real estate
-Taxpayer dollars subsidize political affiliates
-Planned Parenthood sends millions overseas with no accountability
-Planned Parenthood falsely claims that only “three percent of all health services are abortion services.
-Planned Parenthood is not a primary provider of mammograms
-Planned Parenthood’s cancer screening services declined by nearly 50 percent from 2009-2013
-Numerous Alternatives to Planned Parenthood Exist
The rest is in a memo from the committee chairman HERE.
Illinois' own representation on the committee is senatorial candidate Tammy Duckworth, who has continuously emphasized her support for Planned Parenthood. She joined with several of her female Democrats on the committee, saying the Republicans are continuing their "assault" on Planned Parenthood.

NRLC urges Congress to support the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act (H.R. 3495)
Dear Member of Congress:
The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of state right-to-life organizations, urges you to support the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act (H.R. 3495), sponsored by Congressman Sean Duffy, when it comes before the House of Representatives on September 29.
PPFA is also the nation’s largest provider of abortions. Over one-third of all abortions in the U.S. are performed at PPFA-affiliated facilities – indeed, one senior Planned Parenthood official boasted in 2014, “We have 40 percent of the [abortion] market in the whole country.” PPFA now defines abortion as a “core” service, which means that PPFA requires every PPFA affiliate to provide abortions. For additional up-to-date information on the extent of Planned Parenthood’s involvement in abortion, see: www.nrlc.org/communications/ppfamediabackground/
H.R. 3495 would make it clear that federal law does not prevent a state from, at its option, excluding organizations that provide elective abortions from the Medicaid program. We urge you to support this vital legislation. NRLC intends to include the roll call on passage of H.R. 3495 in our scorecard of key pro-life roll calls of the 114th Congress.

Made available to young teens, use of Plan B has increased
In 2006, teens 18 years old and up could buy Plan B, otherwise known as the morning after pill, without a prescription. Those age limits were lifted in 2015 so younger girls can buy it, or their boyfriend or adult molester. Penny Nance is president of Concerned Women for America, and she says the results of allowing younger girls to use the morning after pill are concerning.
“Now that we've made the morning after pill available for anyone at any age, we're seeing an extreme increase in teen use,” she tells OneNewsNow. “About a decade ago, it was one in twelve kids using it, and now a report has come out that about one in five teenage girls have used the morning after pill, which we know is an abortifacient.”
That may be due to promiscuity, but another problem is that the Food and Drug Administration rushed the drug through the process without research on how the drug would impact growing bodies. It's a very strong dose of birth control medication.

A chance to overturn Roe v. Wade?
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge plans to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to hear an appeal of lower court decisions that have gutted the Arkansas Heartbeat bill.
Cox, Jerry (Arkansas Family Council)"Back a few years ago, the Arkansas Legislature passed a really good law that essentially bans most abortions after the 12th week of pregnancy," explains Jerry Cox of the Family Council. "[It] made a few exceptions in there, but for the most part, about 98 percent of the abortions would be banned after the 12th week."
However, a St. Louis federal court, then the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals struck down that part of the law. Cox says the intent of the bill is to save babies' lives and also to give the high court an opportunity.

Speaker Boehner Resigns
In a surprise move, House Speaker John Boehner has announced that he will retire at the end of October. Citing division in the Republican caucus as we head into the final phase of debates over funding the government, Boehner was having difficulty keeping confidence in his leadership because of division on Planned Parenthood funding.
"Speaker Boehner has a golden opportunity to do the country and preborn babies a favor by leading the charge to not allow one penny of our tax dollars to go to Planned Parenthood. He can unite his party and save children at the same time." -- Mark Harrington, Executive Director, Created Equal
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition makes the following statement:
"Speaker Boehner was moved to tears yesterday when Pope Francis spoke before a joint session of congress. A powerful part of the Popes message was to protect life at all stages of development. The pro-life community calls upon Speaker Boehner to embrace those words and to give assurances that Planned Parenthood will not get one penny of tax payer money. This is an historic moment for our nation and for congress and we pray after the Popes inspiring words that congress would work to ensure that the most defenseless in our society are protected and not give 520 million to the largest abortion provider in the world. Simply stated, we cannot follow the Popes message of love and justice for all and fund Planned Parenthood."
