Mail-order abortion pill service may violate drug laws, FDA says

Mail-order abortion pill service may violate drug laws, FDA says
A European online service that has been quietly offering mail-order abortion pills to women in the United States for several months is being investigated by the FDA for possibly violating abortion drug laws. Aid Access is a website that says it offers abortion-inducing drugs to healthy women who are nine weeks pregnant or less.

If women qualify for the pills through online consultations, Aid Access writes them prescriptions for the two abortion-inducing drugs, misoprostol and mifepristone. These prescriptions are filled at a pharmacy in India, which mails the drugs to women in the U.S.

The FDA, however, has issued warnings that women should not buy mifepristone online, “because you will bypass important safeguards designed to protect your health (and the health of others).”

NFL star Benjamin Watson donates ultrasound machines to save lives

NFL star Benjamin Watson donates ultrasound machines to save lives

NFL tight end and Super Bowl champion Benjamin Watson, who plays for the New Orleans Saints, has long been an outspoken defender of life. But he also puts his money where his mouth is, making generous donations, like 3D ultrasound machines, to pregnancy help centers. He has also spoken at the March for Life, where he implored men to do their part in preventing abortion. “We as men must stand up for the lives of the innocent and their mothers in crisis,” he said. “As important as women have been in championing this cause, you men must rise up and lead the charge. Even if it wasn’t demonstrated for you by a father, you can be different. You can change the course of generations. Men: we can be silent no more!”

Watson recently announced that he’s taken action again to help expectant mothers and fathers choose life. “Earlier this year we felt led to serve expecting mothers, fathers and their unborn children by placing ultrasound machines at at health services providers around the country,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “So many men and women struggle with making decisions for life but we know from experience the power and encouragement seeing inside the womb offers.”

CBS poll: 72% of young women favor more abortion restrictions

CBS poll: 72% of young women favor more abortion restrictions

In anticipation of the upcoming midterm elections, CBS and Refinery29 teamed up for a poll concerning young American women’s voting trends and views on certain issues. They began publicizing it August 13. While some media reports of the findings focused more on the political aspects, such as the Trump Administration, the poll revealed much more. Namely, that many young women don’t fit the mold that the media and politicians often assume.

The poll, conducted by YouGov, looked at women from the ages of 18 to 35 and found that only 28% want abortion “legal in all cases.” Other results included: 34% want abortion “legal in most cases,” 25% want abortion “illegal in most cases,” and 13% want abortion “illegal in all cases.”

In the end, that means 72% are likely in favor of some kind of abortion restriction.

Teens targeted by animated Netflix ‘Big Mouth’ show promoting abortion, Planned Parenthood
Vulgar and crude, the animated Big Mouth TV series on Netflix is now promoting Planned Parenthood with a special episode devoted to America's largest abortion provider.  The program, which aired during Big Mouth's second season, is actually called The Planned Parenthood episode.

The cartoon-style show then launches into a series of skits extolling the services that Planned Parenthood offers, but not before suggesting that anyone who is opposed to Planned Parenthood is homophobic.

Gov't seeing value in abstinence ed?

Gov't seeing value in abstinence ed?

Mary Ann Mosack, president and CEO of Ascend, says the 2019 federal appropriations bill contains $35 million for Sexual Risk Avoidance Education, which is $10 million more than the previous year. She says Congress introduced a line item for SRAE back in 2012 with $5 million, and it has incrementally increased the amount each year since.  In addition to the line item funding, there is $75 million in Title V block grants, which brings the total to $110 million for abstinence education.

"Congress was increasingly becoming aware of the value of these programs and willing to put funding behind their belief," Mosack tells OneNewsNow.

New website offers to ship abortion pills to U.S. women

New website offers to ship abortion pills to U.S. women

A website which aims to provide U.S. women with abortion pills without seeing a doctor in person started operations this week.

Known as “Aid Access,” the website purports to connect pregnant women with a "doctor" for an online consultation via the internet, before being supplied with abortifacients mifepristone and misoprostol by mail. The website was created by Netherlands abortion activist Rebecca Gomperts.  The Aid Access website offers a troubling explanation of who the organization seeks to serve and how, including minors who want to hide their pregnancies from their parents

The women then take the pills at home, without the oversight of a medical doctor.

Alabama top court judge urges Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade

Alabama top court judge urges Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade
On October 19th, the Alabama Supreme Court unanimously ruled in the case of Jessie Phillips v. State of Alabama that “the value of the life of an unborn child is no less than the value of the lives of other persons.”  In a concurring opinion, Justice Parker boldly called on the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“I urge the Supreme Court of the United States to reconsider the Roe exception and to overrule this constitutional aberration,” wrote the Alabama Supreme Court judge, and recommended that the Court “return the power to the states to fully protect the most vulnerable among us.”

52 Percent of Americans Say Abortion is a Sin

52 Percent of Americans Say Abortion is a Sin
A majority of Americans believe abortion is a sin, according to findings released today from the 2018 State of Theology survey: 52 percent of Americans agreed that abortion is a sin, compared to 38 percent who disagreed. Opposition to abortion has increased slightly since the 2016 State of Theology survey, when 49 percent said abortion is a sin.

The 2018 State of Theology survey was conducted for Ligonier Ministries by LifeWay Research, which interviewed a demographically balanced online panel of 3,000 American adults.

It is clear that some in the media continue to exaggerate Americans' support for social liberalism, for a large number of Americans continue to agree with biblical ethics.

USAID undermining President Trump’s pro-life policies, funding abortion groups

USAID undermining President Trump’s pro-life policies, funding abortion groups

The U.S. International Agency for International Development (USAID) just gave a hefty grant to CARE, a global aid organization that is working to undermine the administration's pro-life policies and to insert abortion into humanitarian situations worldwide.

In a memo marked "confidential" CARE said it is deliberately undermining the effects of the president's expanded Mexico City Policy, the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance (PLGHA) policy. It said it is working with contacts, ostensibly including those within the administration, to delay the policy's implementation and blunt its life-saving impact for women and children around the world.

Clinic worker–Post abortion woman crying, feeling guilty, and scared

Clinic worker–Post abortion woman crying, feeling guilty, and scared
From a clinic worker:

“I’ve taken up to one hour and a half if the patient needs it – the people at the front desk don’t love it if I do that too often, but if I have to, I do. I just had a patient today that took a really long time. It was a post abortion – she was crying, feeling really guilty. The doctor really scared her; I had to act as her advocate.”

In actuality, most clinics either offer no counseling or counseling that consists only of a short session of telling a group of women about the abortion process (not in too much detail of course) and offering to answer questions. Even in cases where clinic workers want to give more counseling, there is pressure on them to make it short.

The UN should consider the dangers of child euthanasia

The UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights recently solicited input for a report regarding the rights of children with disabilities. MCCL GO provided a contribution that drew attention to the problems with child euthanasia.

The Netherlands permits the euthanasia of children as young as 12, and doctors there also practice the active euthanasia of sick and disabled infants, including those with disabilities such as spina bifida. Belgium removed any age limit for euthanasia in 2014. And earlier this year, Colombia passed a resolution expanding its euthanasia policy to children.

These developments raise a number of human rights concerns. Euthanasia violates the right to life, and child euthanasia is especially troubling. The immaturity of children inhibits their ability to make sound decisions and give proper consent.

Movie about gruesome Gosnell abortionist breaks into box office Top 10

Movie about gruesome Gosnell abortionist breaks into box office Top 10

“Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” has shattered expectations after opening weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, “Gosnell” — a movie about the crimes of a horrific abortionist — finished the weekend at #10 with $1.3 million, despite having a limited release with less than 700 theaters. It beat out movies featuring Hollywood heavyweights, like “A Simple Favor,” starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, and the Keira Knightley film “Colette.”

Despite the horrors of this story, the media notoriously refused to cover it. But now, five years later, Gosnell’s crimes are being told on the big screen, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign that raised over $2 million. Filmmakers had to fight multiple obstacles to bring the movie to theaters, but were ultimately successful — and apparently, more successful than anyone could have expected. “Gosnell” was able to break the box office top ten despite very little advertising, including a campaign to censor attempts to promote the film by Facebook, according to producers. Word-of-mouth from pro-lifers bolstered the film and helped push it towards success, with many viewers reacting positively to the film, despite negative reviews from pro-abortion activists.

AG Hill files powerful brief defending Indiana’s pro-life laws

AG Hill files powerful brief defending Indiana’s pro-life laws
Pro-lifers in Indiana are applauding the decision by Attorney General Curtis Hill (pictured) to ask the Supreme Court to review and reverse a lower decision overturning the state’s law banning abortion for the sole reasons of the child’s race, sex, national origin or a potential disability such as Down syndrome.

In addition, the historic “Dignity for the Unborn Act,” also known as HEA 1337, prohibits abortion businesses from treating the remains of unborn child as common medical waste. Both provisions were blocked in late 2017 by Judge Tonya Walton Pratt, an appointee of President Obama. AG Hill is contesting that conclusion as well.

The bill was signed into law in 2016 by then Gov. Mike Pence. The lawsuit against HEA 1337 was then brought by Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union

Planned Parenthood’s three-part plan for 2019: Abortion, abortion, abortion

Planned Parenthood’s three-part plan for 2019: Abortion, abortion, abortion
Planned Parenthood has released its plan for 2019, and despite declining clients and health services, the plan reveals the organization’s continued obsession with abortion. Planned Parenthood masquerades as a health care organization, and as its abortion market share steadily increased (due in part to half a billion dollars they receive from taxpayers annually), Planned Parenthood’s profits skyrocketed. In 2018, Planned Parenthood set out to protect those gains by vowing to spend millions to elect pro-abortion lawmakers and hire a new director to push for activist judges on the court.

The “multi-million dollar” plan was announced by the group’s political advocacy arm, and disbursed to the media days after Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court. It lays out how Planned Parenthood will “work to ensure there is still access to abortion across the country, even if the national protections afforded by Roe v. Wade disappear.”

'Civility' not a two-way street: pro-lifers

Pro-life campaigners report experiencing an increase lately in abuse. Mark Harrington of Created Equal tells OneNewsNow that since the election of Donald Trump and confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court, the rhetoric has reached a fevered pitch.

"... It's not hard to figure that when you have folks like Senator Cory Booker and Hillary Clinton making statements that they shouldn't be 'civil' in dealing with those who would disagree with them, it would follow that these type of things – you know, attacks and vandalism and threats and that kind of thing – would happen on a college campus," he shares.
