The action arm of the organization which organizes the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., aired a six-figure ad on MSNBC ahead of the Democratic debates Wednesday night.

The “Consensus” ad features a number of women discussing the consensus among Americans shown by a recent Marist poll, which reveals that 8 in 10 Americans — and even 6 in 10 Americans who identify as pro-choice — think “abortion should happen only during the first three months of pregnancy – at most. Beaumont woman at center of dispute over Texas’ 10-Day Rule passes away

Carolyn Jones passed away Tuesday from natural causes following her high-profile battle with the Texas 10-Day Rule.

In May, a hospital committee pulled the plug on Carolyn against her family’s will, but she lived without a ventilator or dialysis for over 60 hours until escaping the hostile hospital in a private ambulance in the dead of night.

Carolyn stopped breathing early Tuesday morning at the long-term nursing facility in which she resided and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Hours later, Carolyn passed away peacefully – on God’s time, not on a countdown forced by a hospital committee or at a time prescribed by state law.

Carolyn’s husband and daughter, Donald and Kina Jones, labored tirelessly to protect her from death imposed by the 10-Day Rule. The Jones family is grateful for countless concerned well-wishers and supporters who sent love as well as donations to Carolyn’s aid. The generosity of people from across the United States afforded the Jones family 43 extra days to cherish with their wife and mother whose life would have otherwise been cut short in May.  Click here for more.

VIDEO: Will more women die from back-alley abortions if they can’t get them legally?

The latest video in Live Action’s “Pro-Life Replies” series was released today in response to the claim that “if abortion is made illegal, women will have dangerous back alley abortions.” The argument from many abortion advocates is that society will never get rid of abortion entirely, and if it’s illegal it will be unsafe — and therefore, they say, we need to keep abortion legal. This argument is severely lacking for several reasons, one of which is the fact that making anything illegal rarely stops that action altogether. Murder and theft are illegal, but homicides and burglaries still happen — and that’s because protecting life and protecting citizens’ private property are two important roles of government.

Planned Parenthood forum: Every Democratic presidential candidate will expand abortion and make taxpayers foot the bill

Planned Parenthood’s political arm recently sponsored a “We Decide” membership forum in South Carolina where every 2020 Democrat political presidential hopeful vowed to protect abortion, and most promised to reverse the pro-life Hyde Amendment, which would force federal taxpayers to fund abortions. Planned Parenthood reflected on states where recent pro-life laws were enacted which seek to protect the preborn at the moment a heartbeat is detected in the womb. While Planned Parenthood labeled pro-life legislation as “part of a concerted strategy to ban abortion outright by overturning Roe v. Wade,” the abortion corporation’s own “2019 strategy” along with several other pro-abortion groups, has been to expand abortions to all nine months of pregnancy in several states.

British pro-lifers rally against forced abortion: ‘Unlikely that this is a one-off case’

British opponents of forced abortion rallied outside England’s Houses of Parliament yesterday.

The “Stand With Her” demonstration yesterday evening was both ebullient and serious in the wake of an Appeals Court overturn of an earlier decision in the Courts of Protection that a Nigerian disabled woman living in Britain should be forced to have an abortion.  

In an address to the rally, Emmi Egbonou stated “The fact that the state can force a late-term abortion on a woman who did not want one is not the kind of state we want to live in. The fact that a judge could make a ruling to force an abortion on a vulnerable woman without her consent is a betrayal of the justice system and betrayal of the most vulnerable in our society.”  Click here for more.

Title X Protect Life Rule Unanimously Upheld by U.S. Ninth Circuit Judges

The US  Ninth Circuit's recent decision to allow the Trump Administration to redirect millions of federal dollars away from the abortion industry was applauded by the Thomas More Society, in partnership with Susan B. Anthony List.

The Title X grants, first enacted in 1970, have never legally funded abortions or abortion referrals, the two groups said.

“Title X has always prohibited the use of its funds by programs where abortion is a method of family planning,” explained Sarah Pitlyk, Thomas More Society Special Counsel. “The now reaffirmed regulations simply enforced those terms, ensuring that taxpayer funds will only be used for permitted purposes. The Thomas More Society will continue to support the goal of ensuring that taxpayer dollars do not support the abortion industry.”  Click here for more.

VIDEO: Officer’s body cam captures rescue of baby girl abandoned in plastic bag

There was a story about a newborn baby girl’s rescue from a plastic grocery bag on June 6, 2019, in rural Forsyth County, Georgia, law enforcement has now released video from the rescuing officer’s body camera in the hope of learning the identity of the baby girl, whom officials refer to as “India.” The baby girl was found after neighbors heard her crying, and is said to be in good health. Fox5 Atlanta reported on the amazing video.

GoFundMe is now actively raising money for Planned Parenthood

Pro-lifers are shocked after learning that GoFundMe, one of the largest crowdfunding platforms, is corporately seeking funds to donate to Planned Parenthood and other abortion organizations. In an e-mail sent to people who have donated to GoFundMe, donations were requested to help “fight back” against pro-life laws by giving to Planned Parenthood and other abortion organizations. What GoFundMe has done with this campaign is shocking, because they are not merely allowing their site to be used to raise money, but are promoting the campaign themselves, and have come out squarely on the pro-abortion side of the debate. The campaign has been featured heavily on social media already, with GoFundMe tweeting it from their account, and showing their support as pro-abortion users share the campaign as well.

France’s top court to decide Friday if brain-damaged Vincent Lambert lives or dies

The heat wave that has left France gasping for water under temperatures of over 100°F is taking on special meaning this week as the fate of Vincent Lambert, the brain-damaged and quadriplegic young man whose doctors, wife and several siblings want to “let die” by depriving him of food and fluids, is once again in the balance.

A hearing took place on Monday at the French Court of Cassation (the highest judicial court in France) in Paris. Its decision will be made public on Friday, June 28, at 5 p.m. local time.  Click here for more.

Incredulous CNN host shocked on air that parents might not want to kill disabled children

A CNN host repeatedly questioned a guest in a recent on-air exchange on why families shouldn’t be allowed to abort their unborn children for being disabled.

Alisyn Camerota (pictured), anchor of CNN’s morning show New Day, seemed genuinely perplexed during her interview with Indiana attorney general Curtis Hill about why anyone would want a family to “have to have” a disabled child. The interview occurred one day after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned part of a 2016 Indiana law banning abortion based on a child’s race, sex, or disability in late May.

Specifically questioning the aspect of the law banning abortion based on an unborn child’s disability, Camerota pressed Hill in an emphatic, dramatic tone, seeming at a loss, as though such an abortion ban were inconceivable.

“I’m just curious about that one,” she said. “Why, why would you want a family to have to have a child with a severe disability?”

Indiana’s attorney general remained measured as he clarified that the matter at hand was the right of the unborn child not to be the object of discrimination based on his disability (or for race).

“Well, the issue that the general assembly faced was not with regard to the question you pose,” Hill replied. “It’s the question of the rights and consideration of the unborn child in terms of discriminatory actions of eliminating that opportunity at life.”

“Making a decision based solely on race or disability certainly is a discriminatory practice,” he said. “And no decision in terms of whether or not to have a child should be based on that solely. And that’s what the general assembly chose to do in its ban.”

Camerota responded to Hill with a quick and murmured “yeah,” then continued in the line of questioning with her seemingly baffled demeanor.

“But that confuses me,” she said. “Because as you know there are lots of terminations of pregnancies based on the fact that there are severe abnormalities of a fetus. And so why would you take away that choice from a family?”

Hill persisted steadily in explaining that the issue is the morality of aborting a child because the child has a disability.

“Well it’s not a matter of taking away that choice,” he told Camerota. “It’s a matter of making a decision solely on the basis of not wanting a child because the child doesn’t have a particular characteristic.”  Click here for more.

New UK ‘two child limit’ forces low-income families into abortions

Abortion numbers have hit an all-time high in the UK, increasing four percent since 2017, mostly in women over age 35. There were 200,608 abortions in the UK last year, but while the number rose for older women, the number of abortions for women under age 18 has declined. The cause? A new government policy known as “the two child limit.”

The two-child limit is a policy that applies to third children born after April 6, 2017. According to British Pregnancy Advisory Servic (BPAS), it affects the child tax credit and the universal credit. After the first two children are born, benefits can’t be claimed for any future children. The only exceptions are if a second pregnancy is multiple births such as twins or triplets, if the pregnancy was from rape and the mother can prove she doesn’t live at the same address as her assailant or cases in which the third child is being adopted or cared for by in a “non-parental relationship by the claimant,” said BPS.  Click here for more.

Breen calls on Illinoisans 'to be as huge and vigorous' as before in parental notification fight

Peter Breen (pictured), vice president and senior counsel for the Thomas More Society, argues that legislation to eliminate a parent’s right to know if their child is planning to undergo an abortion is so radical that not even many pro-abortion supporters can rally behind it.

“In some of the behind-the-scene discussions in Springfield, you had some Democrats that are very pro-choice on abortion actually privately express to people that they support parental notice,” Breen told the DuPage Policy Journal. “These are names that you would not think in any way are weak on the issue of whatever the abortion lobby wanted.”  Click here for more.

‘You told me it was just tissue’: Traumatized abortion pill patients return with babies ‘in Ziploc bags’

And Then There Were None, is a pro-life ministry which helps abortion workers leave their jobs. The group frequently hosts webcasts in which former workers discuss stories about their time in the abortion industry. In one of these webcasts (seen below), former Planned Parenthood director Sue Thayer revealed that women were surprised and horrified to see the bodies of their aborted babies after taking the abortion pill. Thayer spoke about WebCam abortions, in which abortion pills were given to women without a doctor present. The doctor would see the patient via WebCam and would not personally examine her. Pro-lifers tried to stop this practice, and the state of Iowa took Planned Parenthood to court. Thayer says:

[Planned Parenthood officials] stood [in court] and said, “We have never had a complaint about WebCam abortion.” And I’m thinking, is a little tiny nine-week fetus in a Ziploc bag considered a complication? Because we had women bringing them back. You know, after they’ve gone home to complete their abortion and then, they’re doing these up to day 63 at that time, now they do them up to day 70. So many women would actually see a lot of clotting [and] a little tiny fetus in there – women would put them in a Ziploc bag and come back to the center, and say, “You told me it was a heavy period. You told me it was just tissue, and here’s my baby.” So, it was just all bad.  Click here for more.

Unreal: Grand jury won’t charge woman caught on video assaulting elderly pro-lifer

According to WHAS, a Kentucky grand jury has decided not to indict a Louisville pro-abortion woman who assaulted an 82-year-old pro-life activist.

32-year-old Janaya Alyce Gregory was caught on camera pushing Donna Durning outside of the state’s only abortion clinic back in April. Durning was hospitalized with a broken femur and a cut to her head. She needed surgery and physical rehabilitation for the injuries.  Click here for more.

Hospital tries to remove almost-drowned girl from life support against parents’ wishes

Blaire Bravenec was found in her family's pool June 12. Paramedics were able to get her pulse back. She was then flown to the ICU at Children's Health in Dallas. The parents hope their daughter will recover with more time, but, they have had to contend with doctors who want to declare Blaire “brain dead” so that they can remove her from life support.

Texas parents are begging a hospital to give their young daughter more time to see if she may recover before they remove her off life support after she was found unresponsive in the family’s pool a week and a half ago.  Click here for more.

Judge kicks Planned Parenthood lawsuit out of court; tells them to take their complaint to state Administrative Hearing Commission

You have to understand the background before you can properly appreciate St. Louis Circuit Judge Michael Stelzer’s ruling this morning to extend a preliminary injunction he’d previously issued which allows a Planned Parenthood clinic in St. Louis to continue performing abortions up through Friday.

Was the judge saying that the state health department had erred last Friday when it declined to renew the clinic’s license to perform abortions? No! In fact he “kicked the clinic’s lawsuit out of court,” as CBS News colorfully described his ruling.

Judge Stelzer affirmed what Missouri’s lone abortion clinic should have done in the first place: take its complaint to the Administrative Hearing Commission.

Republican Gov. Mike Parson’s spokesman Steele Shippy said as much, telling the Associated Press, “The judge’s ruling affirms the state’s contention that the licensing dispute should be heard by the state commission.”

The state has said concerns about the clinic arose from inspections in March. Among the problems Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services investigators have cited were three “failed abortions” requiring additional surgeries and another that led to life-threatening complications for the mother, The Associated Press reported last week, citing a now-sealed court filing.  Click here for more.

Planned Parenthood to lose $60 million after Title X ruling

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that new Title X rules, that prohibit funds from going to clinics that perform abortions or provide abortion referrals, can go into effect.

The June 20 decision, issued from the bench in San Francisco, means that Planned Parenthood will stand to lose about $60 million in federal funding, though the abortion provider will continue to receive close to half a billion dollars in federal funding from other programs.  Click here for more.

VIDEO: Senator slams pro-abortion candidates’ ‘crazy talk’ against pro-life Americans

Republican U.S. Senator Ben Sasse appears to have had enough of the recent slanderous attacks against pro-lifers by media and politicians alike. Sasse, the author of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, spoke today for just over 12 minutes on the Senate floor, his comments coming “a week after Senator Kirsten Gillibrand compared pro-life beliefs to racism and two days before Planned Parenthood hosts an abortion roundtable for Democrats, including Senators Booker, Gillibrand, Harris, Warren, and Sanders,” according to a press release from the Senator’s office. Live Action News previously noted Gillibrand’s remarks, which were recorded in an interview by a media outlet.

Sasse began by pointing out how out of touch pro-abortion politicians seem to be with the will of the American people. “Today, the radical things that the nation’s largest abortion business wants are basically indistinguishable from the position of almost every Democrat running for president: Abortion —anytime, anywhere, for any reason, for free…. These candidates are wildly and spectacularly out of the mainstream in American life. Gallup polling over the last two decades has consistently shown that a majority of Americans are opposed to unrestricted abortion access beyond the first trimester.”  Click here for more.

Democrat-controlled House passes spending bill that funds international abortions

House Democrats passed a nearly $1 trillion spending bill Wednesday that would restore taxpayer funding for international abortions. The extensive bill allocates funding for various government departments while repealing the Mexico City policy, which ends federal funding of foreign abortion agencies. The bill passed the House with a vote of 226 to 203, largely across party lines, with seven Democrats voting against the measure. The spending bill now moves to the Senate, where many of its provisions are unlikely to pass the Republican majority.

Trump enacted the Mexico City policy (referred to by some as the “global gag-rule”) shortly after taking office. The policy prohibits federal funds from supporting foreign agencies that commit or provide abortions. While the policy has historically been enacted under Republican presidents and repealed under Democratic presidents, Trump expanded its reach to prevent funds from reaching any foreign NGOs (non-governmental organizations) that in turn give to other foreign groups in the abortion industry. VIDEO: Whoopi Goldberg lies, audience applauds: ‘No such thing’ as late-term abortion

Yet another debate on television talk show “The View” has resulted in falsehoods being peddled about abortion. The panel was discussing the current crop of Democratic presidential candidates, and Republican Meghan McCain (daughter of the late Sen. John McCain) offered the opinion that she felt they were all too extreme for her, largely due to abortion. Noting that virtually every candidate supports late-term abortion, McCain was quickly interrupted by moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who insisted that there is “no such thing” as late-term abortion.

“I just want to say, there’s no such thing as late-term abortion. There is no such thing,” Goldberg announced as the audience applauded. She continued, “You cannot do abortions after a certain period of time, unless there is some sort of danger.”  Click here for more.
