Report: United Way funded 2,900 babies’ deaths at Planned Parenthood

A new report from 2nd Vote, which updates its ‘Pro-Life Guide to United Way’ annually, says United Way uses some of its donations to fund abortion provider Planned Parenthood. The conservative organization examined the donations of 1,200 United Way affiliates and found that 62 of them gave $2,756,799 to Planned Parenthood in 2016, the most recent year for which IRS Form 990 data is available. This is an increase of $168,806 from the $2,590,994 United Way sent to Planned Parenthood in 2015. 2nd Vote notes that with the money sent to the abortion corporation, United Way gave Planned Parenthood enough money to fund 2,901 abortions.

The group points out that the states where the United Way funds Planned Parenthood are also known as political “battleground” states. 2nd Vote Executive Director Robert Kuykendall notes, “Given Planned Parenthood’s political presence in these states, it is especially concerning that United Way would be a top donor and financial conduit in these areas.”

Pro-abortion media piles on Trump HHS official Scott Lloyd over pro-life essay

Pro-abortion media piles on Trump HHS official Scott Lloyd over pro-life essay

Scott Lloyd, the director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in the Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), became the latest target of pro-abortion ire this week following Mother Jones’ publication of excerpts from a pro-life essay he wrote in law school.

The essay covers a wide-ranging exploration of the issue, from the “careless[ness]” of “hav[ing] sex when [one is] not ready to be pregnant,” to his contention that it was insulting to assume “any of the female deans or professors at our school” needed abortion to be successful, to the fact that pregnancy involves not just a woman’s rights, but “a fetus’s right to life, and [...] a father’s right to be a father.”

Your Senators Need to Hear From You about Judge Kavanaugh

Your Senators Need to Hear From You about Judge Kavanaugh
If I were inclined to believe anything Nancy Pelosi says, I would draw the conclusion that Judge Brett Kavanaugh is the most powerful man in the country. And also one of the most nasty.

With comments made this summer, Pelosi would have us believe that Kavanaugh will upend the entire fabric of the nation, imposing on us the very worst that mankind has to offer on a panoply of issues.

Planned Parenthood joined in the apocalyptic declarations, saying that “what’s left of our health care” could disappear if Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed to the Supreme Court. They apparently believe he will be able to do it all by himself– all he needs is to get on the Supreme Court.

What you are likely not hearing is that Judge Kavanaugh is recognized as a brilliant judge, a man of integrity and outstanding qualifications.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, along with NARAL, EMILY’s List, Planned Parenthood, and many others don’t like Brett Kavanaugh because they know he will apply the actual words of the Constitution, and will not abuse his judicial power to strike down laws passed by the people’s representatives.

Tens of millions of dollars are being spent by pro-abortion, liberal groups to convince senators to vote against Judge Kavanaugh. They are encouraging office visits and phone calls by constituents to urge a ‘no” vote.

Your senators need to hear from you.

Your senators may be liberal Democrats and you are sure they will vote against the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh—they still need to hear from you. Some face a very close election this fall and need to know that they oppose Kavanaugh at their own peril. The senators need to know their constituents support Kavanaugh.

Your senators may be conservative Republicans and you are sure they will vote for him—they still need to hear from you. They need that reinforcement and support.

Call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your senator’s office. Tell him/her to SUPPORT JUDGE KAVANAUGH.

Vote on an Amendment to defund Planned Parenthood fails in the Senate

Vote on an Amendment to defund Planned Parenthood fails in the Senate
The Senate voted on an amendment from Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY pictured) and Mike Lee (R-UT) to the 2019 appropriations bill which would have eliminated federal funding for abortion providers. The amendment failed by a vote of 45-48. There were several Senators absent from Washington this week.

The National Right to Life Committee along with other pro-life groups, supported the amendment. All of the Democrats including Joe Manchin (D-WV), Joe Donnelly (D-IN), and Bob Casey (D-PA) voted to continue to fund abortion giants, including Planned Parenthood who perform elective abortion.

The amendment would have denied Fiscal Year 2019 appropriated federal funds to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider, reporting well over 300,000 abortions in 2017. Over one-third of all abortions in the U.S. are performed at Planned Parenthood -affiliated facilities.

Abortion groups pledge $20M for abortion pills on California college campuses

Abortion groups pledge $20M for abortion pills on California college campuses

The push to force California colleges to provide deadly abortion pills via legislative mandate (SB320) is a dangerous idea. But it’s not being funded primarily by the state. Instead, two pro-abortion philanthropic organizations have pledged their support to the tune of nearly $10 million. According to the website StateofReform.com, SB320 needed at least $9.6 million in private funding “made available to a state fund January 1, 2019,” to move forward. As the bill is moving forward, it is relevant to ask who is behind those funds: “[T]he Funders’ Collaborative, led by the Tara Health Foundation and The Women’s Foundation of California, committed just under $20 million in funds to ensure that it will move forward at no cost to the state.”

According to a letter from TARA to the Chair of the California Appropriations Committee, TARA and The Womens Foundation “have collectively committed to just under $20 million dollars in implementation funds ready to be deployed as soon as this important bill becomes law. All of the funders will make donations to a California nonprofit organization that will be responsible for providing the $9.6 million to the California Commission...

Resisting either/pro-lifers embrace mother and unborn child

Resisting either/pro-lifers embrace mother and unborn child

In a short essay in THE SCIENCES, the late Professor Stephen Jay Gould once addressed the question of why–with all the available metaphors we could employ to understand/describe fetal development – we’ve settled on either “increments of progress” (from simple to complex) or as “steps in refinement” (from inchoate to sharply differentiated).

Gould came to the interesting conclusion that “some stories can proceed in only a limited number of ways, because the logic of their development (or the limited capacity of our minds) permits no other resolutions.”

Tutored by the media, many noncombatants in the battle to protect unborn life can only understand the abortion debate as an either/or proposition: you are either for a woman’s “right to choose” or you believe the baby’s right to life outweighs any maternal right.

But this is to radically miss an ageless truth: The fates of mother and child are inextricably bound up one with another. There is no way to divorce the two.

As many sadder but wiser aborted women remind us, a pregnant woman is a mother. The only issue is whether she is the mother of a living child or a dead child. Tragically, post-abortion syndrome flourishes because abortion is the ultimate betrayal experience.

Mom wakes up from coma after baby boy is delivered

“The baby and the mother had become each other’s savior”

Betina and her son Elvin. Betina was in a coma virtually her entire pregnancy.

Doctors in Kottayam, India, were left speechless—and understandably so. Last January, a woman described only as Betina had arrived at Caritas Hospital “half dead” after a nasty fall left her with a severe brain injury.

“The rate of her heart beat plunged to just 23% and she couldn’t breathe in oxygen as her lungs were swollen,” reported A.S. Ullas of the Indian news site Manorama Online. She was in a coma.

And if those weren’t enough complications ,no sooner had doctors told the family they could not do anything more than her husband, Anoop, told Dr. Vivek of the emergency medical department that his wife was pregnant!

The medical team sprung into action but were unable to stabilize Betina’s condition. According to Ullas, given the strong medicines Betina was on and the baby’s low heartbeat, they doubted her nine-week-old unborn baby boy would survive. An abortion was planned and Betina was moved to Kottayam Medical College.

“The doctors at the medical college, however, said the foetus would be aborted naturally, and a medical procedure could put the mother’s life at further risk,” Ullas reported.

“But God had some other plans for Betina and her unborn child.”

How One New York Biker Helped Save a Woman and Her Daughter from Abortion

Chantelle Chaffett and her daughter Robyn with Thomas M Upshur Ofs, founder of the New York chapter of Pro Bikers for Life

When Chantelle Chaffett walked toward the front doors of a New York City Planned Parenthood, little did she realize the biker who approached her on the sidewalk would change her life.

Pressured by the father of her unborn child to have an abortion, Chaffett, 27, was there at the abortion clinic against her better judgment.

“It was emotional abuse,” she said. “I never felt so alone.”

But the biker outside the abortion clinic had hope-filled words to share with her, helping her understand she had options, she had support, and she wasn’t alone. The man was a sidewalk counselor with Pro Bikers for Life, a non-profit pro-life group with chapters throughout the U.S (and even Germany and Italy) whose mission is to help preserve life by maintaining a prayerful presence and offering sidewalk counseling at abortion facilities.

Will China finally end its forced-abortion ‘family planning’ program?

Will China finally end its forced-abortion ‘family planning’ program?

Currently, China's two-child policy prohibits couples from having more than two children. In many provinces, couples are allowed a third child only in narrowly-crafted special circumstances that often require government approval, such as when a child has a severe disability or in second marriages. Couples who exceed their government-mandated birth quota can be subjected to steep fines significantly larger than their annual household income.

On June 29, the Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics released a report titled "Development Report of Population Development in Shaanxi Province 2017" which calls for family planning policies to be abolished "when the time is right." The report also encourages that policies be introduced to increase the birth rate, including offering subsidies to women who have another child, policies to protect women's employment security, increasing the availability of maternal and child health services, and improving health systems and early childhood education infrastructure.

Oprah Winfrey devoted an article to the founder of the “Shout Your Abortion” movement in the latest issue of her magazine

Oprah promotes ‘shout your abortion’ campaign in latest magazine

“How One Woman Became an Activist With the Hashtag #ShoutYourAbortion,” by Amelia Bonow in the July 2018 issue of O Magazine, details how Brown found herself “sitting on my couch crying” in 2015 after hearing that the U.S. House of Representatives had voted to defund the Planned Parenthood abortion giant (a measure that ultimately failed).

By contrast, pro-lifers have collected the personal stories of women who regret their abortions just as long, via groups such as LifeSiteNews, Silent No More, Rachel’s Vineyard, After Abortion, and Abortion Recovery International. Abortion advocates often claim abortion regret is a myth.

Senator Rand Paul introduces amendment to defund abortion providers

Senator Rand Paul introduces amendment to defund abortion providers

Contrary to popular belief, taxpayer dollars do fund abortion at various abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood. And on August 16, 2018, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) introduced an amendment to remedy that. In a press release, Paul’s office noted that the amendment was proposed to “H.R. 6157, the Senate appropriations package for Defense, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.” It reportedly “contains the same language preventing such spending as the FY 2019 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education funding bill that passed the U.S. House Appropriations Committee in July.” With this amendment, providers that do not commit abortions would still be eligible “to receive federal funding for women’s health services.”

Senator Paul has attempted to defund Planned Parenthood in the past and also cosponsored the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. He has also attempted to extend protections for preborn human beings under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution through the Life at Conception Act. Paul stated in his press release, “One of the top priorities for a Republican Congress that professes pro-life values on the campaign trail should be to stop taxpayer funding for abortion providers. This is our chance to turn our words into action, stand up for the sanctity of life, and speak out for the most innocent among us that have no voice.”

Late-night TV is dominated by anti-Trump leftists who promote abortion

Late-night TV is dominated by anti-Trump leftists who promote abortion

It would be difficult to find a place more lacking in diversity of worldview than the universe of late-night television. On nearly every single issue, the hosts march shoulder to shoulder in lock-step with one another: Bill Maher, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Samantha Bee, Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver—the list goes on. Each and every one of these hosts is a bona fide member of the liberal cabal fighting against Trump called The Resistance. Fallon was even badgered into apologizing for not being hard enough on Donald Trump during an interview during the election. Not a single one of them is conservative, or even Republican.

And consider a few of the other major issues. Every single one of these hosts agrees on gay “marriage,” delivering contempt disguised as comedy at anyone who disagreed throughout the decade-long debate preceding the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision. On abortion, any discomfort they might feel is not enough to inhibit their unanimous support for Planned Parenthood, the world’s largest abortion provider. Stephen Colbert likes to trumpet his Catholic credentials, but he is well aware that if he said anything even mildly disapproving of abortion, he’d bring down the full wrath of his fellow hosts on his own head for stepping off the reservation. (That said, there’s no indication that Colbert actually is pro-life.)

Abortion-booster Michelle Bachelet appointed to top UN human rights spot

Trailblazing abortion promoter and Chile's first woman president Michelle Bachelet was appointed by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to lead the UN human rights office last week.

Bachelet's convictions about abortion may not have a sufficient check in her new role at the United Nations. She is a known abortion supporter having successfully campaigned to decriminalize abortion in Chile during her second stint as President.

Helene Miller-Walsh appointed to represent House District 51

Helene Miller-Walsh appointed to represent House District 51

Sunday, Lake County GOP chairman Mark Shaw listed an array of reasons why Lake County resident Helene Miller-Walsh was the "clear pick" as to who he thought should fill the vacancy former State Rep. Nick Sauer left when he resigned earlier this month. Walsh was sworn into office Saturday afternoon.

"We needed a person that would be ready to be an actual state representative first, and then a candidate," Shaw, who also serves as the IL GOP's new state co-chairman and member of the party's State Central Committee, told Illinois Review. "Second, we needed a person that could jump into a campaign while serving as state representative. We're confident Helene will be able to do both."

"Helene holds conservative views and I'm certain she will vote in agreement with the Illinois Republican Party platform," Shaw said.

Shock CBS poll: 72% of young women favor more abortion restrictions

Shock CBS poll: 72% of young women favor more abortion restrictions

The majority of young millennial women reject unrestricted abortion, refuse a “feminist” identity, and indicate trust issues with the media – according to a poll by the media.

In anticipation of the upcoming midterm elections, CBS and Refinery29 teamed up for a poll concerning young American women’s voting trends and views on certain issues. They began publicizing it August 13. While some media reports of the findings focused more on the political aspects, such as the Trump Administration, the poll revealed much more. Namely, that many young women don’t fit the mold that the media and politicians often assume.

‘Most damning’ baby body parts videos yet will release if gag order lifted

‘Most damning’ baby body parts videos yet will release if gag order lifted

The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) and its lead, David Daleiden, have filed three motions in San Francisco federal court, asking for the dismissal of a lawsuit from the National Abortion Federation (NAF), along with the dissolution of a gag order that is preventing some as-yet-unseen undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood leaders negotiating the sale of aborted baby body parts.

The case has garnered headlines for three years now, ever since NAF panicked at CMP’s exposure of its secret activities showing the underbelly of the abortion industry. In an interesting twist, Daleiden stated that early in summer (emphasis added)…

NAF came to us asking to settle the case, if only we would agree to a permanent injunction on the videos. Of course, I and CMP told them no way — drop it and bear your own costs. Shortly thereafter, last month NAF willingly dropped 7 out of their 11 charges — including all of their claims under federal law, and all of their unlawful video recording claims. All that remains is just a few simple contract disputes, which the entire gag order hangs on.

Latest Leftist attempt to revive the ERA won't work, Andy Schlafly says

Latest Leftist attempt to revive the ERA won't work, Andy Schlafly says

The ERA advocates in Illinois are placing pressure on US Congress members now to support an effort to remove the ERA's 1979 deadline - after all, the Left argues, isn't the Constitution and anything to do with it "living and breathing?"

The ERA Illinois Coalition is ignoring common sense. Here's what they're doing now:

Latest Leftist attempt to revive the ERA won't work, Andy Schlafly says
And here's the list of US Congressman they're calling to come on board:

Prolife Democrat Dan Lipinski, and Prolife Republicans  Peter Roskam, Mike Bost, Rodney Davis, John Shimkus, Randy Hultgren, Adam Kinzinger, Darin LaHood.

The late Phyllis Schlafly's son Andy told Illinois Review: "No such supermajority with respect to ERA is plausible at this point, given how ERA imposes taxpayer-funded abortion. Moreover, the ERA ratification process would need to restart with zero States because the prior ERA was passed by States based on the original 1979 deadline."

18 years of the abortion pill have made things worse for women and society

18 years of the abortion pill have made things worse for women and society

Medication abortion, also known as the abortion pill, has been marketed as a simple answer for women who want an abortion, offering them the convenience of taking their preborn baby’s lives in the privacy of their own homes. But in reality, medication abortion has had destructive effects — not just on preborn children, but on women and society.

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just 18 years ago, the “abortion pill” consists of two different medications. One medication, mifepristone, is “a synthetic steroid [that] interferes with a fertilized egg’s ability to adhere to the lining of the uterus.” Mifepristone works together with misoprostol, a medication which causes uterine contractions. At the time of approval, FDA Commissioner, Dr. Jane Henney, said the FDA approved mifepristone after a “careful evaluation of the scientific evidence related to the safe and effective use” of the drug.

But that “safe and effective” drug combination operates more like a human science experiment with deadly results.

Illinois abortion center put patients in ‘immediate jeopardy’

Illinois abortion center put patients in ‘immediate jeopardy’

During a recent inspection of the Access “Health Center” abortion facility in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) found conditions so dangerous to women that all abortions were cancelled and not allowed to resume until every surgical instrument in the entire facility was re-sterilized and staff were trained on proper sterilization procedures.

The instruments—which enter the uterus to perform an abortion—contained no chemical indicators to indicate that sterilization had taken place. No weekly biological testing was being performed on the autoclave (sterilizer) itself, and no log was being kept of the sterilization of instruments. There was no way to know whether the instruments were carrying infection from previous patients.
