Chicago-based Aid for Women, which has served thousands of women each year since 1978, is celebrating an unusual victory after hauling in its first-ever Emmy at Saturday night’s Chicago-Midwest Emmy Awards.
Produced in partnership with Spirit Juice Videos, the award-winning video featured a former client, Janessa, who chose life for her son, Christian, when she was pregnant at age 19.
“I was 19 years old when I found out I was pregnant, and I was just in a state of shock,” Janessa says in the video. “I cried for, like, four months. It was going to be a very, very difficult time for me and I didn’t know how to handle it. I didn’t know who to reach out to, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do it by myself, and it was just an overwhelming experience for me. I needed help.”

| Ohio Pro-Life Gov. John Kasich |
The House of Representatives voted to approve the "heartbeat bill" Tuesday night after it passed in the Senate earlier in the day.
This bill would be one of the nation's most stringent abortion restrictions. The legislation prohibits most abortions as early as six weeks into pregnancy after the first detectable heartbeat.
Gov. John Kasich, a pro-lifer, has concerns about whether the law would be constitutional and has not said whether he plans to sign the measure.

Satanic Temple says humane treatment of aborted babies “contradicts our fundamental beliefs”
![]() |
| Satanic Temple spokesperson Lucien Greaves |
“I believe it is imperative to establish higher standards that reflect our respect for the sanctity of life,” said Texas pro-life Gov. Greg Abbott back in July. “This is why Texas will require clinics and hospitals to bury or cremate human and fetal remains. I don’t believe human and fetal remains should be treated like medical waste and disposed of in landfills.”
The impeding deadline prompted The Satanic Temple to threaten legal action in a post put up on the group’s Facebook account over the weekend.
The Satanic Temple believes burial rites are a well-established component of religious practice. This is undisputed in the entirety of US legal history. In addition, members of The Satanic Temple believe in the inviolability of the body and, as such, these rules contradict our fundamental beliefs. The First Amendment protects our right to practice our beliefs, and under the Religious Freedom Reform Act (RFRA), the State must present a compelling reason for why they want to enforce rules that inhibit adherence to our religious practices.

North Carolina’s law protects unborn babies 20 weeks gestational age and older with an exception for medical emergencies and if the woman’s life is at risk. There is an abundance of medical evidence that by this point the preborn is capable of experiencing unspeakable agony as she is torn apart.
Alaska’s law bars outpatient abortions after the first trimester of pregnancy.
Missouri’s law requires abortionists to have admitting privileges in a nearby hospital (in case of emergencies) and that abortion clinics meet the health and safety of standards of ambulatory surgical centers.

CDC: 35% of aborted babies are black
According to the CDC report, the rate of abortion among African-American women is far higher than among white American women. While black women make up only six percent of the U.S. population, they account for 35 percent of abortions reported.
That doesn't include unreported and underreported abortions. The CDC report includes only abortion disclosures from 29 states. Meanwhile, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming either "did not report, did not report by race/ethnicity, or did not meet reporting standards."

‘What If I hadn’t been born?’ question infuriates pro-abortionists
![]() |
| Rachael Larimore |
And because she is not one of us, it made her trenchant observations all the more telling. Here is her beginning:
The pro-choice movement relies on a carefully crafted image to make its position seem responsible and caring: that women should be allowed to abort their unplanned pregnancies because unwanted children grow up poor, neglected, abused or some combination thereof. It can’t allow for the possibility that some “unwanted” children actually grow up in loving homes and become responsible, even successful, adults; or that couples who take responsibility for unplanned children can be as good of parents as couples who wait until they’re ready to have a family.
And when they are presented with evidence to the contrary, out comes the name-calling.
Pro-abortionists were furious.

Another big drop in U.S. abortions!
Abortion numbers have been falling sharply almost every year since 1990. Each of those decreases represents thousands of unborn babies whose lives have been saved.
But that life-saving shift didn’t just happen by itself. Each of those decreases also represents the support so many of you have given to the Right to Life movement so we can save innocent lives.
Last week, we received more good news. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control reported another 5% drop in abortions between 2012 and 2013. Abortion statistics are always reported years after the fact, and the CDC numbers don’t include data from every state.
But comparing previous CDC data to the new report suggests there were tens of thousands fewer abortions in 2013 overall than the year before, which continues the life-affirming trend of the past 20+ years!
