Baby Slaughter No Big Deal
His holiness spoke today at Notre Dame, and apparently all we need is a little understanding. You see, abortion is really no big deal. It is a tool to be employed if , say, one of his daughters makes a mistake. After all, he doesn't want her "punished with a bay-buh!" "Ya'ow?" Abortion is a mere political issue that can be a source of disagreement... but apparently amounts to no more than that.
Why then does AP's Julie Pace report that Barack "Born Alive, Let Them Die" Obama:
One of the noisiest controversies of his young presidency flared after Obama, who supports abortion rights but says the procedure should be rare, was invited to speak at the school and receive an honorary degree. "I do not suggest that the debate surrounding abortion can or should go away," the president said.
If the "procedure should be rare" there must be something wrong with it on some level or are those "just words" and mean little to the reader of TOTUS? Besides, Barry, isn't suggesting the debate "should go away." It is commendable that his highness is willing to allow we innocent life-valuing serfs to keep our opinions. His recognition of the debate is almost cause to forget his vocal opposition of the "Born Alive Infant Protection Act" in The Illinois State Senate.
The man is a uniter and apparently he has an important message for the peasants:
"no matter how much we want to fudge it ... the fact is that at some level, the views of the two camps are irreconcilable." But he still implored the University of Notre Dame's graduating class and all in the U.S. to stop "reducing those with differing views to caricature. Open hearts. Open minds. Fair-minded words. It's a way of life that always has been the Notre Dame tradition."
I am relieved! I now know that it is wrong to reduce the supporters of dismembering unborn children for convenience to "caricature." I should not judge those who support the practice of burning unborn children with saline. I should be "understanding" when it comes to those who approve of partially delivering a near full term baby, then piercing the base of his skull and vacuuming out its contents... all for the health of the mother or at the very least the right to privacy.
Understanding is the key. I now understand why he appointed Kathleen Sebelius to be Secretary of Health and Inhuman Services. I would also understand now if he were to appoint Dr. George Tiller to the post of Surgeon General... of course it would be more aptly named Abortionist General.
