Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass. appeared in a video published on Monday which advocates for the passage of the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act (EACH Woman Act), a bill that would repeal the Hyde Amendment. The Hyde Amendment was passed in 1976 and bans Federal funds from being used for abortions except in cases of rape and incest.Proponents for the amendment claim that the Hyde amendment is harmful to women's health because it makes access to abortion income-based rather than a human right.
