Arizona Congressman Calls for Investigation of Planned Parenthood After Rape Cover-up

An Arizona congressman called on state officials to investigate Planned Parenthood after two new tapes surfaced allegedly catching clinics trying to hide statutory rape. Responding to the videotapes released this week, Republican Rep. Trent Franks lambasted the organization for its "flagrant violation of the law." "These video clips are the most recent in a series of recorded incidents in which Planned Parenthood clinics have blatantly disregarded the law and failed to protect children by refusing to report potential cases of statutory rape," Franks said in a press release.

Videos Show Clinic Failures

A woman who posed as a pregnant teen and secretly recorded her trips to Phoenix abortion clinics says her videos show a failure to meet legal requirements. Lila Rose, a 20-year-old college student and founder of the anti-abortion group Live Action, visited two Planned Parenthood Arizona clinics in Phoenix last year posing as an underage girl, telling a receptionist and a clinician she had been impregnated by an older man and secretly filming their responses, The Arizona Sun reported Wednesday.

Mother of Killed Pregnant Woman Fighting for Unborn Victim Laws

Lucy Johnson was 15 weeks pregnant when she was killed, but the death of her unborn son isn't counted as a separate murder charge under state law. Johnson's mother Michele Dye and the Justice for All Coalition Chairman Jeff Gerber want that to change. "North Carolina is just one of a few places that don't have the unborn victim law," said Gerber. The federal government and 36 states have a law to prosecute the unlawful killing of an unborn child, he said.

Hillary lauded as 2009 abortion champion

Tomorrow in Houston, Texas, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to receive Planned Parenthood's highest honor--the 2009 Margaret Sanger Award. The gala, which takes place down the road from the construction of America's largest-ever abortion facility, has been in the works since Hillary's days in the Senate. To many, it reinforces the strong alliance between the Obama administration and the radical pro-abortion crowd.
As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is the most visible American ambassador. What better way to show her support for the President's newest export--overseas abortion--than share the stage with one of the federal government's prime partners in that effort? According to the organization's press release, Clinton is being lauded as "a champion of women's health and rights throughout her public service career."

Pro-lifers, at White House, discuss abortion

Pro-life advocates discussed with White House staffers Tuesday some approaches that have worked in reducing the number of abortions in the United States.
Representatives of Concerned Women for America (CWA) and three other groups met with Joshua DuBois, the head of President Obama's faith-based office, and other staff members. CWA President Wendy Wright requested the meeting after she learned that the revamped and newly titled White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships would have reducing "the need for abortion" as one of its priorities.
