What's the new plan have planned for abortion providers?

Kristan Hawkins, who heads Students for Life, says the replacement bill, the American Health Care Act, puts a lot of weight into Planned Parenthood being defunded.

"However, this could come down to a Senate parliamentarian -- whether or not the Hyde Amendment would apply to this bill and that Planned Parenthood couldn't receive funding, and also that abortion could not be funded in this new healthcare system that they're creating," she tells OneNewsNow.

Hawkins, Kristan (Students for Life)That is because it seems the tax credits could allow money from the refundable credits to pay for abortions in health savings accounts. But Hawkins insists that abortion funding, whether it is provided directly or indirectly, is not acceptable. In addition, the measure prohibits tax dollars from going to abortion organizations that get over $350 million in federal money, but presumably, facilities that provide abortion and receive less revenue could.

Restoring our lost common sense about the killing of human beings

During the 19th century, scientists and physicians came to understand that the life of a human being (an individual member of the species Homo sapiens) begins at conception. The old idea that “quickening” was relevant to the nature of unborn children had been shown to be biologically mistaken.

“The true scientific position,” explained an essay published in 1866 in the United States Medical and Surgical Journal, “is this: from the moment of conception, when the spermatozoa coalesces with the cell-wall of the ovule, the ovum is a distinct human being.”

For Americans of this era, the humanity of unborn children settled the question of the morality of killing them. “Because the medical and legal establishment presupposed the moral axiom against killing innocent human beings,” writes Justin Buckley Dyer in his historical treatment of the subject, “the physicians involved with the anti-abortion movement in the nineteenth century thought a demonstration that life begins at conception was sufficient to establish the wrongness of abortion at any point during pregnancy.”

Unborn children are, as a matter of empirical fact, human beings. Intentionally killing innocent human beings is wrong. So abortion is wrong. Case closed. Unborn children deserve protection just like all other members of the human family. Consequently, in the mid- to late-19th century, states replaced the common law or earlier anti-abortion statutes with statutes banning all elective abortions, both before and after quickening.

But the commonsense view that killing innocent human beings is wrong isn’t as common now as it was back then.

Touching story: 26-week-old preemie reaches out to nurse with tiny hand in captivating photo

A 26-week-old preemie reaching out to touch a nurse's hand
The Daily Mail published the photo, found on a website for medical staff called Figure 1. It shows a tiny baby girl, born at 26 weeks’ gestation and weighing less than one pound, "seeking the comfort of human touch."  The baby girl's whole hand was only 3/4 of an inch.

"I was changing her nappy and she just held onto my hand," the nurse explained online. "I had to stop and just let her. Human touch is so important."

Pro-lifers are the antidote to the present darkness

It is a truism of sorts that because something is 100% expected, we can easily overlook its significance. Looked at another way, however, it is equally true that because the outcome is wholly predictable, it speaks volumes.

By way of illustration, the New York Times (the anti-life newspaper of record) recently ran a story that talked about informal discussions pro-life President Donald Trump had with the largest abortion provider in the known galaxy, Planned Parenthood. During the campaign, Mr. Trump made clear he was not opposed to federal funds going to Planned Parenthood if the nation’s largest provider of abortions got out of the abortion business.

“Offering money to Planned Parenthood to abandon our patients and our values is not a deal that we will ever accept,” huffed Dawn Laguens, the executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “Providing critical health care services for millions of American women is nonnegotiable.” So, just to be crystal-clear, decapitating a helpless unborn child is providing a “health care service.”

Even though Planned Parenthood continues to propagate the frequently dispelled falsehood that abortion makes up only 3% of the “services” it provides, it knows–we know–there is a lot at stake for PPFA which obliterates over 320,000+ unborn babies each and every year.

The closer the confirmation hearings, the more hysterical the pro-abortionists

Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch
Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch
With confirmation hearings for Judge Neil Gorsuch set to begin next Monday, the Abortion Industry and its media allies are ramping up opposition to Neil Gorsuch, the federal appeals court judge President Donald Trump has nominated to replace the late Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.

A four-page letter, signed by 55 pro-abortion groups, was provided to POLITICO “in advance of its release,” according to Seung Min Kim. The letter was to be delivered sometime today to all Senate Democrats.

“We implore senators to do everything necessary to block this nomination,” the groups wrote. “Gorsuch has demonstrated he will go to extraordinary lengths to reach a result that would block women’s access to basic reproductive health care” [aka, abortion].

The 55 groups included the usual suspects, according to POLITICO: Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the National Abortion Federation.

Planned Parenthood VP refuses to say if abortion kills a human

During an interview with FOX News' Tucker Carlson, the executive vice president of Planned Parenthood repeatedly refused to answer whether abortion ends a life.

Carlson pressed Dawn Laguens about her thoughts on abortion extinguishing a fetal heartbeat and whether a fetus whose sex is different from his mother's is part of the mother's body. She didn't answer Carlson's questions directly, instead repeating unrelated pro-abortion talking points.

Let me remind my liberal friends: George Orwell was pro-life

George Orwell
George Orwell
With the rise of Trump, bloggers have decided that America is now on the path to the dystopia of 1984, or perhaps whatever it is that happened in Animal Farm. But if we’re going to spend the next few years waving George Orwell quotes at each other, I’d like to remind my left-wing friends of something important: Orwell was pro-life.

In his 1944 essay “The English People,” for example, Orwell mourned that, “In England of the last thirty years, it has seemed all too natural…that abortion, theoretically illegal, should be looked upon as a mere peccadillo.” This is coming not from a devout Catholic like Hilaire Belloc or staunch Protestant like C.S. Lewis, but from an admitted agnostic who only attended church regularly for a brief time in the 1930s.

RU486 over the counter a 'recipe for disaster'

A little less than a year ago, the Food and Drug Administration eased restrictions on use of the drug, reduced the dosage, extended use of it from the seventh to the tenth week of pregnancy, and loosened qualifications for prescribers. Dr. Randall K. O'Bannon with National Right to Life tells OneNewsNow a group of medical professionals wants restrictions further reduced.

"They've got a group of folks together who signed this article in the New England Journal of Medicine arguing that they want it to be able to be sold at retail pharmacies or be available through online mail order instead of having to go through procedures that are there for the safety of women," he says.

The group of doctors call themselves the Mifeprex REMS Study Group – and according to the NRLC spokesman, there's nothing in their arguments dealing with making the abortion drug safer for women.

“Strip Marie Stopes of its license,” SPUC and Life launch joint petition

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children and Life have formed a united front to have Marie Stopes stripped of its abortion license in light of recent scandals and in the wake of a probe which has lifted the lid on the nation’s shameful abortion industry.

The launching of a joint petition comes in the wake of revelations alleging that the country’s second largest abortion provider – Marie Stopes – has been approving thousands of abortions without meeting women, with some discussions of the reason for the abortion lasting as little as 22 seconds.

It was reported in the Daily Mail that the organization has been signing off abortions following short telephone conversations, without the woman seeing the two doctors who authorize the abortion.

Calumet City lawmaker encourages comment on taxpayer abortion funding bill

Wednesday, State Rep. Thaddeus Jones (D-Calumet City) asked 29th House District constituents to post on his Facebook page their thoughts about a bill that would add abortion to Illinoisans' tax bills.

Up until now, Illinois has respected religious citizens' beliefs and not used their tax dollars to pay for abortions, except for medical, rape and incest causes.

All that would change with the passage of HB 40, as Rep. Jones responded to one of his commenters:

"The new bill would be for any reason," he wrote.

Life Advocacy Day - March 29th, 2017

A day without a woman in Planned Parenthood

We don’t need a reminder from faux feminists on the incredible value of women. None of us would be here without one. Motherhood made us all possible, including those who celebrate abortion.

Because these pro-abortion activists weren’t aborted, they have the ability to promote any nonsense they want, like the Day Without A Woman strike. Yes. Remove women from the public space and the world will learn how vital they are. Wouldn’t the same apply if we removed all the men from the scene? We’re both needed. Liberal feminists don’t want harmony. They prefer the sound of their own discord, decrying unequal pay, demolishing biological gender, and demanding that all humans (particularly the unborn) are not equal.

Imagine the real impact of A Day Without A Woman inside a Planned Parenthood?

Planned Parenthood chasing money, say ex-officials

Many who represent and support the abortion giant have repeatedly stated that without its services, poor women would have nowhere to go for quality health care.

Ramona Trevino, a former manager of a Texas Planned Parenthood facility, became disenchanted and left the organization.  She said in a Live Action video that the amount of time spent with patients was drastically reduced. The result was demonstrated especially among girls who were not appropriately instructed on the use of birth control pills.  Sue Thayer directed two Planned Parenthood clinics in Iowa and told Live Action that as the quota for abortions increased, the amount of time per patient was reduced.

Republicans are working to reallocate over a half-billion dollars from Planned Parenthood to local health clinics that are not so busy doing abortions.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ star Emma Watson donates to Planned Parenthood: ‘They’re the best!’

Vanity Fair recently filmed Emma Watson giving advice remotely through an iPad at New York's Grand Central Station. For just two dollars, the magazine’s “man on the street” Derek Blasberg promised commuters that the 26-year-old actress would answer any question.

Vanity Fair confirmed at the end of the video that “All proceeds from Emma’s advice booth have been donated to Planned Parenthood.”  “Oh my god, the money! It has to go to Planned Parenthood,” she insisted. “Planned Parenthood, they’re the best.”

Planned Parenthood refuses Trump offer to give up abortions and keep funding

Planned Parenthood has declined an offer from President Trump to keep – and possibly increase – its federal funding in exchange for ceasing to commit abortions.

The proposal was an "impossibility" for Planned Parenthood officials, the New York Times reported. Planned Parenthood receives nearly half a billion dollars from the federal government annually. Its non-abortion services are able to be billed through Medicaid. Ninety-four percent of its pregnancy services are abortion. Planned Parenthood however claims abortion is "only three percent" of its business.

Teen Vogue’s Disturbing Detour to Slam Pregnancy Centers Accidentally Promotes Them

Lindsay Johnson is charged with suffocating her newborn son to death in April, 2016.
Lindsay Johnson is charged with suffocating her newborn
“Never let a good crisis go to waste.” Those words, originally attributed to Winston Churchill, were followed in a surprising way this weekend by Teen Vogue, which went out of its way to exploit a tragic story to disparage the life-saving work of pregnancy centers.

Covering the heartbreaking case of Lindsay Johnson, a 20-year-old former college student charged with suffocating her newborn child last April, Teen Vogue updated its young readers on Johnson’s upcoming day in court, before taking an off-the-wall turn to promote Planned Parenthood’s abortion business and tear into pregnancy centers.

In reality, neither Planned Parenthood nor a pregnancy center seem to be involved in any way with Johnson’s story. That fact makes the following sentences feel a little more than out of place:

From the search history that law officials found in Lindsay’s computer, it’s clear that the former student felt that she had limited options. But it’s important to know that there are a lot of resources out there for dealing with pregnancy. Planned Parenthood is a great place to start, and their website alone offers a vast amount of information about pregnancy and safe abortion procedures. There’s even an entire section of their website dedicated to teens.

It’s also important to avoid Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs), which scare women away from making their own decision by providing false information. CPCs masquerade themselves as health clinics, and sometimes offer free pregnancy testing and counseling in order to attract patients.

Johnson would more than likely have found the resources and compassionate support she needed to not only carry her baby to term, but embrace motherhood for her newborn son had she found a local pregnancy center. …

OB/GYN group blasts $600M global abortion fund: Women need help having babies, not killing them

MaterCare International, Canada (MCI) opposes the current funding initiatives by nearly 50 countries to provide and promote abortions as the family planning method of choice for poorer countries. The Canadian government is committing nearly $20 million to the $600 million international goal to fund so-called sexual health and family planning initiatives reacting to the US withdrawal of funds for abortions and abortion-related services overseas. MCI opposes this titanic effort of the international community in choosing to fund abortions, which do not significantly reduce maternal deaths, over meeting the basic obstetrical needs of mothers and children in order to greatly reduce maternal mortality.

MCI has spent over 20 years working with mothers and children in some of the world’s poorest regions. In our decades of experience, we have seen that the only coherent way to reduce maternal and perinatal mortalities is to provide essential obstetrical care that women take for granted here in Canada. Causes of maternal mortality are well known and include; postpartum haemorrhage (35%), Hypertension (18%), Indirect causes (HIV, anaemia, malaria & non-communicable diseases) (18%), other direct causes (ectopic pregnancy, pulmonary embolism, obstructed labour) (11%), amounting to 91%. Deaths occur during the last three months of pregnancy, during labour and delivery and two weeks afterwards and are preventable with essential obstetrics, which includes comprehensive prenatal care with identification of mothers as high risk mothers, safe clean facilities, adequately equipped in which to deliver, and properly trained  health professionals, midwives and doctors.
