Dignity in Dying Scotland recently released a video to go along with a report titled "The Inescapable Truth," in which a young boy asks his mother how his grandfather died. As she describes his cancer and the process of putting him in hospice care, the video cuts to jarring shots of the grandfather writhing in pain asking to "make it stop" while the mother watched and cried. The report claims that 17 people die in this way each day and advertises assisted suicide as the solution to this problem.Videos like these only serve to pressure scared or depressed individuals into feeling like they should choose suicide over palliative care.
