State Sen. Pamela Althoff leaving Senate early; Wilcox likely to replace her
Althoff (R-McHenry) will be leaving office on Sept. 30. Althoff, who has represented the 32nd Senate District since 2003, was not running for re-election to the Senate, opting instead to seek a spot on the McHenry County board. The 32nd Senate district includes parts of Lake and McHenry counties.
Republican Craig Wilcox and township assessor Mary Mahady are running to replace Althoff. The McHenry County GOP is expected to name Wilcox to fulfill the rest of Althoff's term in the interim.
