NJ Hotels Offer Abortion Discounts

An abortion clinic that performs abortions up to the sixth month of pregnancy has worked out an arrangement with two area hotels to provide substantially discounted room rates for women seeking abortions.

Based on reports from local citizens participating in the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil outside the Cherry Hill Women's Center, New Jersey Right to Life has confirmed that the Clarion Hotel in Cherry Hill offers a reduced rate of $59 for a room originally priced at $109 to those women who provide a receipt from the clinic that says they have to stay overnight. In addition, the Quality Inn in Maple Shade offers a discounted rate of $74.95 for a room originally priced at $99.99 and a free breakfast of eggs and pancakes for women who present a stamped pamphlet from the clinic.

Bill Clinton Boosts Mich. Stem-Cell Referendum

Former President Bill Clinton has urged Michigan voters to approve a referendum legalizing embryonic stem-cell research when they go to the polls Nov. 4. In making his pitch in favor of Proposal 2 Friday at the Oakland County International Airport, Clinton called the measure "pro-life, pro-health, pro-science and definitely pro-Michigan," the Detroit Free Press reported Saturday.

Abortion Ban Returns To Ballot In South Dakota

Two years after South Dakotans rejected a nearly total ban on abortion, voters on Nov. 4 will decide another sweeping but less restrictive ballot measure that would probably send a legal challenge of Roe v. Wade to the U.S. Supreme Court. The initiative would outlaw abortions but includes exceptions for rape, incest and pregnancies that threaten the life or health of the woman. Some voters said they wanted those exceptions when they rejected the tougher 2006 measure 56 percent to 44 percent.

Fake Doctors Sell Abortion Pills

The Dispatch this week bought illegal abortion drugs on the streets of East London - drugs which are blamed for contributing to a spike in botched, life-threatening terminations of pregnancy. In the past three weeks, 41 women and teenage girls have been admitted to two hospitals with botched backstreet abortions - some in critical condition and fighting for their lives.

Pro-Lifers Pursue 'Abortion Ship' Off Spanish Coast

Pro-life campaigners attempted to prevent doctors aboard an "abortion ship" from carrying out terminations at sea outside Spanish jurisdiction. A flotilla of anti-abortion campaigners followed the Aurora as it took a party of six women from the port of Valencia outside Spanish waters. The first free abortions were due to start today on board the ship run by the Dutch pro-choice group Women on Waves which aims to put pressure on the Spanish Government to reform the current law.

Obama Supporters' Intellectual Sleight of Hand

The appeal of radio shock jock Howard Stern (now on Sirius Satellite Radio) escapes me. But occasionally, he stumbles onto to an important discovery.

Stern recently sent one of his minions into a part of New York City where you'd expect the residents to overwhelmingly support Sen. Obama. But in talking to the "man (and woman) on the street" who said they favored Obama, he attributed to Obama views on abortion (and the war in Iraq) that actually are McCain's. In other words, he told them that Obama was pro-life.

How did this set with them?

The respondents were fine with that, even though Obama is pro-abortion to the hilt. And they also had no problem with Obama's "selection" of Sarah Palin as his running mate, even though she is, of course, Sen. McCain's VP! (I wonder what they would have said had the interviewer told them Obama favored a return to slavery.)http://nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct08/nv101708.html
