Trump blocks international support for abortion groups at G7 meeting

President Trump
The Trump administration is blocking political and financial support for abortion groups in the highest echelons of international diplomacy, including the most recent G7 and G20 meetings.

The U.S. proposed compromise language during negotiations asking to qualify the term “sexual and reproductive health” by reference to UN agreements that explicitly deny abortion is an international right. In the end, it was negotiators from Canada and Europe who wanted no mention at all of “sexual and reproductive health,” preferring deletion to qualifying the term to exclude abortion rights.

Media outraged at NRA political spending, but Planned Parenthood dwarfs them by far

Money
A Washington Post article’s attempt to call attention to political donations from the National Rifle Association over the last two decades after recent large-scale shootings was trounced when another journalist pointed out on Twitter that Planned Parenthood gives vastly more money to members of Congress than the NRA.

The Post story and its accompanying tweet began by saying:

The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis noted that Planned Parenthood’s Congressional donations far exceed those of the NRA, tweeting in reply:

Responding to Gov. Rauner Signing the Abortion Tax Payment

Illinois Governor Rauner
Illinois Medicaid already covers abortions in cases of rape, incest, and when the mother’s life is threatened by the pregnancy. The Hyde Amendment prevents federal funds from being used to fund abortions outside those instances, so to circumvent that, Illinois citizens are now going to help pay for those abortions. How did this come about? After promises and reassurance that he would veto HB 40, Illinois Governor Rauner signed HB 40 into law on September 28, 2017, making Illinois the first state to provide taxpayer-funded abortions to those on Medicaid.

Governor Rauner’s failure to keep his word is a betrayal against his constituents, the Republican Party, (every Republican state representative voted against the bill), and to pro-life conservatives state-wide. In response to this betrayal, a number of Illinois Republican politicians and grassroots organizations have spoken out, saying that they will no longer support him. As an alternative, Republican State Representative Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton), West Point graduate and married mother of five, has announced that she is challenging Rauner in the 2018 March Republican primary as the true fiscal conservative and pro-family candidate.

Since Rauner’s decision to sign HB 40 into law, our firm has received phone calls asking for guidance. What can be done? According to State Representative Peter Breen, (R- Lombard) there is little likelihood of a constitutional challenge to the bill. However, there is a legal challenge underway as to the start date for the taxpayer funding of abortions seeking its further delay from January to June of 2018. If delayed, Representative Breen says this would save 1000’s of babies lives. Representatives Breen and Senator Dan McConchie have also introduced the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act to stop the funding. Additionally, the federal Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, now before the U.S. Congress, if passed, would ban abortions after 20 weeks which would also lessen the effect of HB 40.

National Right to Life praises restoration of Adoption Credit Tax

Rep. Kevin Brady
The National Right to Life Committee praised House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) (pictured) and Republican House leadership for restoring the adoption tax credit in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

“Adoption affirms the unborn child’s right to life, allowing each baby to enter the world as a blessing for another family,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life.

While in effect, the adoption tax credit has served as an effective way to encourage adoption by easing the often-steep financial expense that can be incurred by adopting a child.

Object to abortion? You might need this law, Congressman says

U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.)
Pro-life health care workers and institutions need stronger legal protections from pressure to help provide abortions, backers of proposed federal legislation have said.

“Healthcare is about saving life, eradicating disease, mitigating disability —not taking life,” U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) said Nov. 8. “At the very least, health care providers should have the right to not be coerced into facilitating abortion. Coercive anti-conscience policies are not only highly unethical but blatantly illegal. The law couldn’t be clearer on this matter.”

He spoke at a D.C. press conference in support of the Conscience Protection Act, which would protect health care workers from federal, state, and local abortion mandates if they conscientiously object to assisting with abortions. It would also protect religious employers from having to cover elective abortions in their health plans, and establishes a “right of action” in court for all entities if they believe their religious beliefs on the matter are violated.

Trump slams forced abortion, infanticide in North Korea

North Korean dictator Kim Jon Un
President Trump blasted the forced abortions and infanticide that are regularly committed in North Korea, asking why China would “feel an obligation” to help a country that kills Chinese babies for being “inferior.”

“North Korean women are forced to abort babies that are considered ethnically inferior,” Trump told South Korea’s National Assembly. “And if these babies are born, the newborns are murdered.”

Facebook cuts off another pro-life group, then reactivates account after media reports

Facebook on a Tablet
Wexford/Missaukee Right to Life, an affiliate of Right to Life of Michigan, discovered the shutdown last month when they tried to “boost” a post. Wexford/Missaukee Right to Life president Teresa Fenby told LifeSiteNews the social media giant gave no notice, no explanation, and no instructions on restoring the account.

The internet phenomenon, which currently has 2.07 billion active users, only restored the Wexford/Missaukee Right to Life account after media scrutiny. The Detroit News and Mlive ran stories on the Facebook censorship, and in the course of investigating made calls to the networking giant.

Then, without explanation, Facebook reinstated the account.

Flashback: Planned Parenthood Donor Mila Kunis Says Unborn Are ‘Human’

Mila Kunis on Conan
Actress Mila Kunis recently revealed her monthly donations to America’s largest abortion provider on Conan. But, just last year, she acknowledged her pregnancy as a “human inside.”

On Nov. 2, Kunis told host Conan O’Brien about her “peaceful protest” against Vice President Mike Pence, whom she “strongly” disagrees with.

“As a reminder that there are women out there in the world that may or may not agree with his platform, I put him on a list of reoccurring donations that are made in his name to Planned Parenthood,” she said to applause. “Every month to his office, he gets a little letter that says like, an anonymous donation has been made in your name.”

But Kunis didn’t acknowledge the threat Planned Parenthood poses to the unborn, who she celebrates as life. In July 2016, a pregnant Kunis spoke about expecting her second child with husband Ashton Kutcher on Live with Kelly.

I do have a human inside,” Kunis said. “Just one.” Four months later, she gave birth to Dmitri, who joined older sister Wyatt.

Illinois taxpayers, but not health care carriers, will pay for elective abortions in 2018

Taxpayer Funded Abortions
Taxpayers in Illinois will be paying for elective abortions for expectant mothers on Medicaid and employed by the state - but private companies in Illinois will not be offering the same coverage, a new study on Illinois programs said Wednesday.

Family Research Council released a study of the health care coverage being offered throughout the states as they pertained to elective abortions. Here's what they and the Charlotte Lozier Institute found about Illinois' programs:

Names of Insurance Carriers and Their Elective-Abortion Coverage:

1. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (12): No plans cover elective abortion (2018 plan documents).

2. Celtic Insurance Company (9): No plans cover elective abortion (2018 plan documents).

3. Cigna Healthcare of Illinois Inc. (5): No plans cover elective abortion (2018 plan documents).

4. Health Alliance Medical Plans Inc. (61): No plans cover elective abortion (2018 rep. communication).

5. *Highmark BCBSD Inc. (7): No plans cover elective abortion (2018 plan documents).

There are a total of 5 insurance carriers being offered on the Illinois exchange in 2018.  Highmark is new to the Illinois marketplace in 2018 while Humana is the only insurance carrier to leave the Illinois marketplace. In 2017, all 61 plans did not cover elective abortion. In 2018, all 94 plans will not cover elective abortion, a 33 plan increase in insurance options.

Students for Life launches 'Sock it' campaign

Students For Life Sock it 2 planned Parenthood

Students for Life has launched a national campaign to draw attention to Congress failing to defund Planned Parenthood.  Executive director Kristan Hawkins is spearheading the drive to hold the abortion mega-corporation and politicians to accountable.

"We're going to be going to mega-Planned Parenthood facilities in Aurora, Illinois, Denver, Colorado, St. Louis, Missouri," she says. "And we're also going to be going to key senators' offices talking about why the Senate should uphold its promise to defund Planned Parenthood."

Students for Life collected more than a hundred thousand baby socks leading up to the first phase of the Sock it 2 Planned Parenthood campaign.

"Right now," she says, "some of the socks are touring college campuses showing students the enormity of Planned Parenthood's abortion business."

After the campaign, the socks will be donated to pro-life pregnancy centers to help moms.

Preborn babies feel pain as early as six weeks

Woman looking at ultrasound picture
Earlier this year, a study published in the journal Cell documented that as early as the first trimester a preborn baby has produced an adult-like nervous system pattern, concluding that pain is real to the in utero child.

Dr. Anita Showalter, associate dean for clinical education at Pacific Northwest University, tells OneNewsNow that doctors doing surgery in utero on preborn babies know they can feel pain – otherwise, why else would they give the babies anesthesia?

"This most recent study shows that the early development of the nerves in the fingers and the extremities is much more developed than we had thought earlier," explains Showalter. "Those early [in utero] observations could be true that the fetus actually is feeling pain."

Other studies suggest preborn babies feel pain as early as six weeks, and Showalter points out that society puts a lot of value into not causing pain in any creatures.

Planned Parenthood tells blacks: You’re better off aborting your babies

The most dangerous place for an african american is in the womb
In what has to be the most shameless marketing strategy in recent history, a Planned Parenthood Twitter account called PP Black Community, tweeted a "scary stat" on Halloween morning: "If you're a Black Woman in America, it's statistically safer to have an abortion than to carry a pregnancy to term or give birth. #ScaryStats."

What's truly scary is that an organization that prides itself on its message of empowerment and inclusion is fear mongering young minorities with the exact opposite message of empowerment and inclusion. Planned Parenthood is convincing young Black women that they are not equipped to give birth. They are telling them that abortion is a safer option. They are saying if they choose to be mothers, they will most likely die.

Pro-life group, Created Equal, exposes companies that haul away Planned Parenthood’s aborted babies

A Specific Waste Industries truck leaves Planned Parenthood after picking up the remains of aborted babies.
After prevailing earlier this year in an effort to expose the nation’s largest medical waste hauler during a campaign to halt the disposal of aborted children, Created Equal is moving to unmask more collaboration between medical waste companies and the abortion industry.

The success #ProjectWeakLink has had thus far – resulting in the withdrawal of more than 400 contracts between Stericycle, Inc. and abortion facilities in recent years – has meant that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry have had to find alternative ways to dispose of the babies aborted at their facilities.

Pediatricians blast new app giving 12-year-olds access to abortion-inducing drugs without parents

Nurx App
The American College of Pediatricians is alerting parents to a dangerous new mobile phone app called Nurx. Dubbed the “Uber for birth control,” Nurx enables teens as young as age 12 to obtain contraceptive and abortive medications including the pill, vaginal ring, Plan B and Ella without parental knowledge or local physician oversight.

Sexual activity in adolescence is associated with harmful emotional and physical consequences including depression, suicide, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and sexual exploitation at the hands of abusive boyfriends or sex traffickers. Easy access to contraceptives that bypasses parents and a physician visit, as Nurx does, increases the likelihood of teens experiencing these bad outcomes.

Rep. Chris Smith Hosting Press Conference on Conscience Protection Act

Rep. Chris Smith
Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) is hosting a press conference on November 8th at 10 a.m. on the Conscience Protection Act of 2017, which would uphold the conscience rights of health care providers, religious charities, and churches who are being forced to participate in or provide coverage for abortions.

Nurses who have been forced, against their religious beliefs, to participate in abortions at hospitals will also be present alongside members of Congress to tell their own stories of fighting against discriminatory health care policies, and to advocate for the passage of the Conscience Protection Act. Current federal law does not sufficiently protect the conscience rights of health care professionals and others.

The Conscience Protection Act passed the House as part of the FY18 House appropriations package (H.R. 3354). (The text is identical to H.R. 644 by Rep. Diane Black and S.301, by Senator Lankford). Supporters are hoping to pass it as part of the appropriations bill for the 2018 fiscal year. It would provide a private right of action to those who are victims of abortion discrimination,, allowing them to take their case to court.

Planned Parenthood Hired Fusion GPS to Create Fake Report on Daleiden undercover videos

Fake News
Fusion GPS, the group hired by the Clinton campaign (Hillary) and the Democratic National Committee to prepare the so-called Trump dossier, was also hired by Planned Parenthood to create a false report about the undercover videos produced by Sandra Merritt and David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP).

In the summer of 2015, CMP began releasing undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood executives regarding the procurement of aborted baby body parts. Planned Parenthood hired Fusion GPS to conduct a "forensic analysis" to discredit the videos. Not surprisingly, the Fusion GPS report falsely declared that the videos had been edited and were fake, even though the "research" organization has no known qualifications in the field of forensic video analysis.

In contrast, the same videos were analyzed by Coalfire Systems, Inc., a company that does have credentials in the field of forensic video analysis and are experts in the field of information technology auditing. Their findings were diametrically opposite from the Fusion GPS report.

Trump admin asks Supreme Court to ‘discipline’ lawyers for rushing teen immigrant’s abortion

The Department of Justice (DOJ)
The Department of Justice (DOJ) is petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to punish the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) for lying to the government about the timeline of an underage illegal immigrant’s abortion.

The DOJ is also asking the Supreme Court to throw out the lower court ruling that allowed “Jane Doe,” a 17-year-old in the custody of the U.S. government, to abort her baby.

NRLC urges Congress to retain adoption tax credit

Save the Adoption Tax Credit
The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the nationwide federation of state right-to-life organizations, urges you to retain the adoption tax credit (section 1102(b)) as well as the exclusion for adoption assistance programs (section 1406) as you consider H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

Adoption affirms the unborn child’s right to life, allowing each baby to enter the world as a blessing for another family. While in effect, the adoption tax credit has served as an effective way to encourage adoption by easing the often steep financial expense that can be incurred by adopting a child. The pro-life movement has long promoted adoption as an alternative for single mothers facing crisis pregnancy situations as well, offering them a viable alternative if they are unable or unwilling to raise their children themselves.

We urge you to retain the adoption tax credit in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. National Right to Life believes that Congress ought to remove financial barriers to adoption, not create them.

Vision 2020 - Week 37 - Rep. Mike Fortner (R) and Rep. Brad Halbrook (R)

Pray for our legislators...

The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
Psalm 126:3

Will you Pray with us?

Vision 2020 and the Illinois Federation for Right to Life would like to invite you to join us in praying for our state legislators.  We will send out information about a couple different state representatives each week for you to pray over.

Consider sharing this information with your ministry partners, your church family, on your website and/or your Facebook page.

We know that prayer changes things.  And we know that NOTHING is impossible with God. So let's join our hearts and voices together and petition heaven on behalf of the great state of Illinois!

Some of our legislators need prayer that God will open their eyes and change their hearts (or move them out of their positions) and some need prayers that they will have the strength, courage and boldness to be able to stand firmly against the opposition as they fight for life and family values.

November 2017 proclaimed as National Adoption Month by President Trump

President Donald Trump
By the President Donald Trump

Every year, generous and loving families adopt thousands of children and provide them with the affection, attention, and opportunity they deserve. Adoption is a true blessing that greatly enriches the lives of parents and children alike. During National Adoption Month, we celebrate the thousands of families who have expanded through adoption, and we acknowledge the strength and resiliency of the children who are still waiting to find their forever home.

My Administration recognizes the profound importance of adoption for the American family. Adoption is a life-changing and life-affirming act that signals that no child in America — born or unborn — is unwanted or unloved. Adoptive parents are a selfless and loving part of God’s plan for their future children. As a Nation, we extend sincere appreciation and gratitude to those families who have welcomed a young person into their hearts and homes, sharing the precious gift of family and a lifetime of support.

We must continue to remove barriers to adoption whenever we can, so that the love and care of prospective adoptive parents can be directed to children waiting for their permanent homes. This year’s National Adoption Month, we focus on our commitment to helping older youth experience the transformative value of permanency and love. A child is never too old for adoption. A supportive family can provide the critical direction that older children need as they enter adulthood, helping them attain educational and employment goals, and, in certain cases, avoid homelessness or incarceration. We never outgrow the need for family, and older youth who are adopted are more likely to finish high school and feel emotionally secure than those who age out of foster care without a permanent family.

This month, let us celebrate the gift of adoption — an act of love that provides deserving young people with the foundation they need to achieve their potential and pursue the American Dream.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim November 2017 as National Adoption Month. I encourage all Americans to observe this month by helping children in need of a permanent home secure a more promising future with a forever family, so they may enter adulthood with the love we all deserve.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirty-first day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand seventeen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-second.

DONALD J. TRUMP
