Emily’s baby almost died in the womb… but this app made all the difference

Emily and Ruby Eeckhoff
The “Count the Kicks” App enables moms to monitor the kicks and other movements of their babies in the third trimester. Emily Eekhoff found the app useful when she was pregnant with her son, Liam, and so the she downloaded it again when she was seven months along with her next baby.  During Week 33, the app noted that the baby wasn’t moving as often as usual. That made Emily nervous.

Emily went to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and discovered that her baby was in trouble. An umbilical cord had wrapped itself three times around the infant’s neck. Little Ruby was promptly delivered by an emergency C-section. Emily credits the app for saving her baby’s life.

City of Liverpool, England, shows its solidarity with Charlie Gard

Charlie Gard
The longer the titanic battle to save little Charlie Gard goes on, the more support there is to “allow” his parents, Connie Yates and Chris Gard, to take him out of a London Hospital , which believes he is better off dead , and take the 11-month-old boy to Columbia Hospital in the United States for experimental therapy.

President Donald Trump and Pope Francis are tweeting their support of the parents’ right to make medical decisions for Charlie, who suffers from a rare and debilitating chromosomal condition in which his cells cannot replenish essential energy. There has been some success in the United States using a natural compound, orally administered.

Now the city of Liverpool is showing its solidarity.

“A number of Liverpool city centre landmarks will be lit up blue tomorrow night to support Charlie Gard and his family,” according to Jenny Kirkham of The Liverpool Echo. “Tomorrow, a group of supporters will gather at midday for a peaceful demonstration at the waterfront in the hope of raising awareness of Charlie’s fight before a number of significant Liverpool buildings are lit up blue.”

Kirkham reports that the driving force is Christiana Byrne. She contacted the Liverpool City Council about getting behind Charlie.

“It’s amazing to see people supporting Charlie’s cause,” Byrne told the Echo. “We want more people to become aware of the struggles Charlie’s family are facing and hopefully with more awareness, Charlie will be allowed to go to America.” Byrne added

Google censoring pro-life facts to help abortionists

Google Headquarters
Operation Rescue operates a website called “Abortions in America,” which reveals a considerable amount of information on abortion in the United States. The resource is used by the general public and researchers to obtain accurate facts.

Operation Rescue President Troy Newman maintains that Abortions in America was a very popular website.

“But Google has censored this page,” Newman asserted. “Just after January, we noticed a huge reduction in the number of Web hits, and all those Web hits come from Google searches, so apparently people across the world were literally googling abortions in the United States – or abortions in America – and landing directly on our page as being very high up in the search parameters.”

Nancy Pelosi: Republicans ‘dishonoring God’ by trying to defund Planned Parenthood

U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
Republicans in Congress are dishonoring God by working to undo Obamacare and they should check their consciences, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said this week.

The California Democrat invoked faith and sought the moral high ground in a rambling critique of GOP efforts to replace the former president’s signature healthcare takeover.

Illinois law requires pro-life doctors to discuss ‘benefits’ of abortion

Abortionist urging abortion
I have predicted that “medical conscience” will become a huge social controversy in the next decade, as culture of death proponents seek to force pro-life and Hippocratic Oath-believing doctors out of medicine by compelling them to be complicit in life-taking acts such as abortion and assisted suicide.

I just learned that a law enacted last year in Illinois compels doctors to counsel patients about the “benefits” of all legal medical procedures – the prime target is pro-life doctors about abortion, but it is not limited to that – and if unwilling to do the deed, to become complicity by helping patient find a doctor who will.

New UN Database Pressures Countries on Abortion

The World Health Organization
The World Health Organization has launched a new interactive database on global abortion laws and policies, aimed to pressuring countries to conform their abortion laws to the recommendations of UN agencies and bureaucrats.

The WHO database is explicitly political, using a controversial technical and policy guidance on “safe abortion” it published in 2012 that calls on countries to decriminalize abortion as if this were an internationally agreed target or a human rights obligation, which it is not.

Pro-lifer's attempt to disqualify judge falls short

Gavel
Daleiden's legal team sought to have Federal Judge William Orrick removed from his trial because of his association with an organization that hosted a Planned Parenthood clinic on site, and because of unfavorable social media comments by his wife. Judge James Donato conducted a hearing on the case and has ruled Orrick will not be removed, saying that Daleiden's group – The Center for Medical Progress – presented no evidence that would call Orrick's impartiality into question.

Alexandra Snyder of Life Legal Defense Foundation is defending Daleiden.

"The hearing itself was rather troubling [because] it is difficult, especially in federal court, to have one federal judge rule that another should be disqualified," she tells OneNewsNow. "That is a difficult thing, but we were disappointed in the outcome."

Orrick also accused Daleiden of contempt of court for releasing an undercover video recording. No date has yet been set for that hearing.

Some of our legislators need prayer that God will open their eyes and change their hearts (or move them out of their positions) and some need prayers that they will have the strength, courage and boldness to be able to stand firmly against the opposition as they fight for life and family values.

Beware this abortion propaganda masquerading as a defund Planned Parenthood petition

Three ad agency employees launched defundpppetition.com, which asks users to sign a petition defunding Planned Parenthood. Users are to select the "services you would like to defund."  "But it's actually a bait," explains Business Insider. "The website is designed to educate people about Planned Parenthood’s various offerings."

Clicking on "defund abortion" results in a red message: "NO government funding has gone towards abortions since 1976 so you can’t defund them."  Sure, the federal money Planned Parenthood receives can't technically fund most abortions. But it can keep the lights on. And help with overhead costs. And pay staff who do abortions. And pay for lots of other things that keep the abortion business afloat.

Vision 2020 - Week 21 - Rep. Jeanne M Ives (R) and Rep. Christine Winger (R)

Recently, I heard a pastor tell the story of a United States Senator.  The Senator told the pastor, "I feel like the church prayed me into this Senate seat but now they have left me to do the job on my own."

Have we, God's people, done just that?  Have we prayed that God would put Godly men and women in our city, county, state and federal government offices and then failed to cover them in prayer?

Perhaps it's time to renew our commitment to pray for them!

Will you join us in praying that God will give our Godly leaders boldness and courageous to fight courageously each day for a government that honors God in their words and their deeds?

Will you step up to be a guardian of our cities and our state?  Will you be the watchman on the wall?  Will you be the prayer warrior and the superhero that Illinois is so greatly in need of today?

UN Women steps up efforts to promote abortion worldwide

UN Women’s new draft strategic plan signals a change of focus for the agency from consensual policies to possibly promoting abortion among other controversial social policies. The agency’s leadership expressed no intention of backing down.

The Executive Board of the agency is reviewing a draft strategic plan for the next three years. The draft plan has an outsized focus on reproductive health and for the first time also focused on reproductive rights. It indicates that UN Women may attempt to set itself up with a mandate to promote abortion and to lobby to change abortion laws.

Pro-lifers stop Planned Parenthood from opening inside high school – for now

Pro-lifers protest outside a Reading, Pennsylvania school board meeting
Massive outcry from pro-life students and activists caused a Pennsylvania school board to pull a proposal for the establishment of a Planned Parenthood-run "sexual health counseling center" inside a high school.

"If Planned Parenthood is allowed to be inside Reading High School, they are going to replicate this model in high schools – and likely middle schools – across the country. They cannot be allowed prime access to our children," said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.

U.S. Takes Giant Pro-Life Step at the U.N

Pro-life U.S. UN Ambassador Nikki Haley
The United States Mission to the United Nations in Geneva confirmed the words of pro-life U.S. UN Ambassador Nikki Haley that “there is a new sheriff in town” in a statement of position that demonstrated beyond any doubt that this “new sheriff” is wearing a shiny pro-life badge, to the dismay of pro-abortion governments and activists.

An explanation of position was read by U.S. First Secretary to the U.N. Jason Mack, following adoption by the Human Rights Council of a resolution by Canada that focused on the elimination of violence against women–A/HRC/35/L.15 : Accelerating efforts to eliminate violence against women: engaging men and boys in preventing and responding to violence against all women and girls.

The statement confirmed U.S. support for “the spirit” of the anti-violence resolution and that the U.S. joined other the members of the Human Rights Council “in condemning all acts of violence against women and girls and in calling for the elimination of all forms of sexual and other forms of gender-based violence, including sex trafficking of women and girls”.

But then, the U.S. took a giant pro-life step and declared “the U.S. ‘must dissociate from the consensus’ specifically on access to safe abortions.”

U.S. opposes abortion language at UN

United States Mission Geneva
The United States rejected a United Nations Human Rights Council resolution today because it included the sanctioning of abortion. The decision was praised by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life Global Outreach (MCCL GO), an international non-governmental organization working to secure human rights for all human beings.

Today’s statement marks the first time since the inception of MCCL GO that the U.S. delegation to the UN Human Rights Council has spoken against a resolution endorsing abortion rights.

“MCCL is encouraged by the Trump administration’s support of the right to life of unborn children,” says Scott Fischbach, Executive Director of MCCL GO. “There is no right to abortion under international law. In fact, a foundational document of the UN, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, explicitly protects the right to life.”

Judge dismisses 14 “invasion-of-privacy charges” against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt

David Daleiden
The legal case against Center for Medical Progress investigative reporters David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, already rickety, suffered a serious blow Wednesday afternoon when San Francisco Superior Court Judge Christopher Hite dismissed 14 “invasion-of-privacy charges” against them. (Mr. Daleiden will be speaking at the 2017 National Right to Life Convention at 12:30, July 29.)

Defense lawyers will now go after the sole remaining charge– for “criminal conspiracy” to invade “privacy”–brought against the pair, based on the same video recordings. Those videos, claims pro-abortion California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (who brought the charges in March) were taken of 14 people without permission between October 2013 and July 2015 in Los Angeles, San Francisco and the county of El Dorado.

“This is a huge victory to have 14 criminal counts dismissed,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. “We will now turn our attention to dismissing the final count. Sandra Merritt did nothing wrong. The complaint by the California Attorney General is unprecedented and frankly will threaten every journalist who provides valuable information to the public. This final count will also fall.”

A new draft Senate bill will defund Planned Parenthood and replace Obamacare

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and President Trump
U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and President Trump
A draft of the Senate version of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) indicates that it will defund Planned Parenthood.

The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Senate Republicans are in the final stage of negotiations for Obamacare's replacement.  The draft " removes language restricting federally-subsidized health plans from covering abortions, which may have run afoul of complex budget rules," the Post indicated.    A version of it passed the U.S. House on May 4.

Congressmen seek pro-life focus at NIH

petri dish
Under the direction of Dr. Francis Collins, NIH has directed millions of dollars toward research on human embryos.

David Prentice of the Charlotte Lozier Institute tells OneNewsNow that Congressmen Jim Banks and Dan Lipinski have introduced the Patients First Act to change the agency's course.

“The whole point of the bill," says Prentice, "is to prioritize NIH funding for adult stem cells that are going to be able to help patients, first, in the near term, be able to get them into the clinic and help these people. And that, again, is adult stem cells, not embryonic stem cells."

This pro-life talk at Google's headquarters was a hit

Stephanie_Grays_Google_talk_April_20_2017
A pro-life activist walks into Google’s headquarters and delivers a speech so compelling that within 24 hours, the online video of it surpassed a similar speech given by the head of Planned Parenthood.

It may sound like the start to a far-fetched joke, but on April 20th, pro-life speaker and activist Stephanie Gray did just that.

Gray’s talk centered around the idea that there are three qualities that lead us to call someone “inspiring:” They place others ahead of themselves, have “perspective” on their sufferings and situation in life, and do the right thing even in difficult situations. She linked these criteria to the process of dialoguing with others about abortion, emphasizing question asking.

Ashton Kutcher’s Show Stars Character Who Rejects Abortion: ‘I Can’t Do This’

Ashton Kutcher on The Ranch
In a media world that guarantees applause (and headlines) for abortion plotlines, Ashton Kutcher’s Netflix sitcom is revolutionary.

On June 16, Part 3 of The Ranch premiered on Netflix. Besides serving as executive producer, Ashton Kutcher starred in the show as Colt Bennett, a football player-turned-rancher. Colt is a character who strives to do the right thing, including, most recently, trying to talk his ex-girlfriend out of an abortion.

In a recent interview with Parade, the 39-year-old actor first hinted that his sitcom would confront controversial social issues like abortion.

“None of these issues are cut-and-dried and simple,” he told contributor Amy Spencer. “If it were easy, people would just fix it! What this show gets to do is unpack these issues in a different way—and empower people to laugh while exploring them.”

Kutcher didn’t disappoint. The topic of abortion proved a major plotline, beginning with the very first episode, when Colt finds out his ex-girlfriend Heather is pregnant with their baby.
